View Full Version : Diff Shop Recommendations?

Blew the diff/axles/something in the rear end of my GT on Wednesday and need to take it somewhere to get it fixed.

Under the slightest load it will attempt to move but then starts grinding in the diff housing. Also would like to upgrade to 3.9's or 4.11's at the same time.

Can anyone recommend where to go, I want a good job and prepared to travel for it.

How much did you pay skinkis? Do you still have the standard axles?

Yeah, still standard axles in mine, new diff, crown wheel and gears. Was around the $3000 mark fitted.

Hey skinkis, when you got your diff rebuilt did it get rid of the diff knock that the fords are notorious for?

I didnīt have a nock to start of with ;)

Mine just cracked and the car started vibrating and sound quite bad under load.

Not sure if "Dalspec" on the forums does ford diffs but I do know he is the diff guru.
May be worth sending him a PM.

They've made a tailshaft for me and they had great service too. Can't go wrong with either place I reckon

The knock you're talking about isn't diff, it's suspension bushes.
Common as fuck on BA/BF even FG I think

cradle diff bush or tailshaft joints is the knock.
