My bikes. But i recently sold the KTM690 Duke as I needed the room.

1996 ZX6R Ninja with brembo master cylinder and braking Wave front rotors and braided lines. This thing makes an awesome daily ride and with the brake upgrade stops like a demon! Comphy as with the new seat and keeps up on the twisties with most new bikes! I prefer this bike than both my old 05 Fireblade and 06 R6.
2009 KTM 450 EXC-F Enduro weapon and Rallye bike.
1999 Beta Techno 250 Trials bike, awesome fun in the limestone quarries!

Is Trials hard? I imagine it's not a fuckign easy thing to get stuck into!

DRIFT13
29-04-2012, 06:32 PM
Trials isn't hard at all really, it's just time and patience. It's a lot of fun to just find a Limestone quarry somewhere and just ride around hopping up ledges and balancing on the edge of them. I'm pretty useless really, but the best bit is it's slow fun, and when I get back on the 450 everything seems so easy!

2011 yz450f ( efi backwards motor )
ohlins front and rear suspension , procircuit Ti slip on , also got a set of gold talons hubs and gold excel rims for race day.

next on the mod list just ordered a rekluse auto clutch .. hopefully can shave a tad off the lap times , never worry about stalling again , and save the left fingers from clutch pulling fatigue.

(ps , not my bike with girly in it .. but same race number on same bike )

Go for my R's in about 10 days and will buy a big bike when back from my Europe trip.. my mind changes every day about what I want, if naked bike then probably either Super Duke\Speed Triple\F1ZN.. just need to see which sings to me. If Supersports then probably the usual ninja/gsxr or fireblade

I started on a ZZR250 when I was 17 which got stolen so I had to resort to my old man's 1999 GSX1300R Hayabusa

Was pretty much stock apart from cruise control and the Remus Carbon cans, cracked over $3.00 on it, unlike other big bikes still feels solid.

My first track day on it (shit jacked & jeans = no knee down!) Thing is a bitch around the track, could overtake on the straight no problem as it had the balls but under brakes & turning was interesting (Nearly 100kg heavier than your average 600)

http://i1000.photobucket.com/albums/af122/Rigggs/Bikes/IMG_0347_web.jpg

Rode around in that for ages then he up and bought a 2011 BMW S1000RR (Incredible bike) Currently stock as a rock but have a few plans for it.

Electronics belong in cars was reading about the new Ducati Patagonia or what ever it is and the new BMW 1000rr in latest Rapid mag and they both have that many electronics the journo said it's pretty much impossible to get in trouble when they are all set to full assist. Traction control, abs, tip and wheelie sensors. Sure the bikes are/will be fast I think it takes away some of the thrill of riding.

agree! but its always nice to be able to click into 1st.. hold rev at the limiter drop the clutch and have the bike fly of in the distance rather than loop itselfs haha!

Don't know about the 12' models but on the 11' S1000RR its not all that restrictive, Has 4 modes Rain, Sport, Race, Slick (Slick you need to ask BMW to activate with a code as it does not come enabled from factory, "too aggressive for the road" they say)

Rain - feels very sluggish and lazy, wheelie & traction control are very restrictive. Also cuts about 50HP, but will still mash 600s.
Sport - is like any other bike, never really pushed it in this mode so can't really comment
Race - still has all electronics enabled but I have locked the front without ABS kicking in and have had the rear stepping out without TC taking over so the electronics are very relaxed.
Slick - is 100% aggression, all electronics are off and throttle response it razor sharp but far from un-rideable on the street.

Nah not worth the money to be honest, Just do the cam timing mod and re jet the carby and they make the same power. Still reliable as it was stock as long as you get the jeting correct. But once the big bore kit goes in the cams will help out then.

I never said they couldn't don't get me wrong I love the look of cafe racer style bikes but most are stripped out small capacity bikes with drum brakes. They get built for cruising about and not really pushing the limits. Of course there are exceptions.

Fair call but we are still aiming to push ours for what it is.
We've stripped a good 5kg off our bike which already weighs next to nothing. We're running bigger carbs, stacks, electronic ignition and straight through exhaust.
And we're aiming to do the ton on this thing so i'd say our cafe is as much about performance as it is looks.
If we were about limits we would've chosen a bigger capacity bike to start with and we already built a 98R1 so we're kinda over the go stupidly fast thing.

the Black S was so nice but original fraser had replace both tyres on it but i saw the rear tyre before they replace it and it definitely look like the owner knew how to ride and i was little worry it had been on the track.

Inherited this from my cousin who decided he'd go to USA for 6-12 months. '07 CBR 600.
Not quite the sexiest bike but very easy to ride, front wheel comes up if full throttle first/2nd.

Can't 'legally' ride it without a shadow just yet (1 month to go) so will take it out more often once I get over that last hurdle.

done a few little things to my bike recently, tank protector so my belt stops scratching up my tank, A*'s brake resevoir sock also bought some cheap 3d carbon fibre look vinyl of ebay and wrapped a couple small bits. They came out well so i had a crack at the lower fairing, after 3 attempts i finally got it perfect only to find out i didnt have enough wrap left to do the other side :( so now waiting on more to come from ebay. Also put some flush mount LED indictors on the front and some small halogen type ones on the rear, getting rid of the big bunky OEM ones has made a huge diffrence to the look of the bike.

A Eagles supporters bike broke down last night and asked to store his bike at my work until morning to get it home. After seeing the bike and being a Eagles supporter myself I approved ;)

Even though I know nothing about bikes, don't think their would be many of these around. Either way I love the look of it!

Just picked this up on Saturday - 2008 (09 VIN) Speed Triple
Have some Techspec tank grips/protector coming and will do the orange belly cowl & arrow exhausts eventually
Finding so many cool aftermarket bits for it... must close internet!

Bought a new front stand yesterday, not bad for $70.
Aftermarket rearsets went on last week, moved pegs up and back and has made a huge diffrence to how the bike turns. Just tips in so much quicker and easier now without having to do big shifts in body weight. bike also coped an aftermarket undertail unit with moulded in LED tail lights.
New fairings are on the way as well, gotta paint the fuel tank to match but will get that sorted soon as they arrive.

Hmmmm maybe not....... Have not payed for the bike yet and ment to pick up tonight BUT ! just done a revs check (ppsa) and it shows up a collision in January 2011 *sigh* pissed off now :( back to looking i guess , the bike looks immaculate and i went over it for at least an hour no signs of any damage.

EVLO
10-10-2012, 11:57 AM
well, if it looks perfect, get it inspected by a good mechanic and tell him its been crash repaired. It might be fine and you could screw the seller down on price ;)

H1GHROLLR
10-10-2012, 12:00 PM
i actually took my bike mechanic with me (dirt bike mech but qualified) and he said the same it shows no signs of any damage we even unbolted the fairings and looked at engine/frame, Whats the opinions on buying it still ? cheers EVL

EVLO
10-10-2012, 12:04 PM
could have just been fairings/controls replaced, could also be a mistake on the revs check (slight but possible?). Id talk to the owner and tell him what the revs came back with, see if he claims ignorance or what. He'll also know what having that check come back will do to most buyers so may be willing to negotiate with you. Find out which suzuki dealer did the major service he mentions in his ad and call them to discuss.

H1GHROLLR
10-10-2012, 12:08 PM
The strange part is the bike was brought by this guy from a suzuki dealer , can they buy and sell something registered on a ppsa register ? last service was a major service and everything checked out 110% also. have spoke to the seller and he is genuinely shocked ! any i belive he was totally unaware and payed for a ppsa check him self to confirm

It could of just been a stationary drop which is enough to do a couple grands damage easy to a new bike. Does the check give you any more info or just say a collision?
Check the welds around the headstem and the wheels with a string to see if they are true, lift front up and check steering is smooth and forks don't stick at all.

If all that checks out and price is good I'd go for it.

ah ok my bad.. I'd say a shop is allowed to sell a repaired bike, it's still buyer beware even at a shop imo or 2nd hand vehicles.. It wouldn't stop me from buying it if it checks out to be good, but considering when you sell it anyone doing a revs will get the same report down the track, i'd be lowballing him on 12k..

10-10-2012, 07:19 PM
Ok this is how it went, took a bike mechanic out to the bike again for a 2nd qualified opinion and the bike is sound as ! Must of been a stationary drop and with all credit the owner genuinely didn't no, he wasn't trying to do the dodge and was fair with the pricing, ended up paying 9k cash which I think is a great buy :) soooooo stoked.

So after coming home with the gsxr 1000 i brought the other day the misses actually decided that road bikes not just dirt bikes are pretty cool and instantly decided that she wants one, the decision was made at 10pm friday and by saturday morning we had pick up this little 2 pot learner screamer !, she agreed 90% of the standard colour ninja 250's look pretty boring and common so we settled on this special edition with rear seat cowl, its done 4000 k's and is in top nick :) took it for a wrap and its pretty cool and shes in love with it already big time (this means i get to spend money on the gixxer too :D)

From what I've read (not ridden) the street triple is probably the best as a well balanced performer, but I like something a little different. The Z750 is affordable and is a good mean looking naked, second to the Z1000. The FZ1000's look pretty ghastly IMO.

My Z750 is easy to throw around and is nice and simple. I just integrated the rear lights, fender eliminator and IXIL carbon exhaust to clean it up a little and give it a nice note, surprisingly feels more torquey to boot.

new bike i picked up 06 Ninja 636. Tips in and turns so easy and its not as sluggish as i expected, once it gets over 11,000rpm it gets a huge surge of power and screams!

Nah still sittin in my garage road gear stripped off from last track day. i'm still 50/50 about selling it. But then again if it sells i can buy mods for the ninja lol.

At the track today i was fidding about with the ninja trying to work out where the rear indicator wires run so i can pull them off for track days when i noticed a black box squeezed down the inside of the tail piece after a bit of prying, bending fingers backwards and some swearing i pulled the black box out to discover its a PC3 unit and its plugged in and working. Stoked about that, previous owner obviously had no idea it was there.
