Ive had 245/40 and 245/45 on a 8 inch wide rim. Its fine.

lol, it sat on my 8" fits perfect, only problem is it will get extra side walls thus protude a little.

If your running proper offset wheels(Standard offset) this should fit, my offsets a little further than standard so the extra tyre is making it rub on the guards.
