Goulburn Highway Patrol stopped the West Australian truckee on Thursday morning and issued a number of offences, including driving without a clear view and driving while using a handheld mobile phone. In a statement, police reiterated that the ”position and size of the screen meant a significant section of the windscreen was obscured, making driving extremely dangerous.”
wtf.....dunno what's better driving on speed or driving while watching tv...

Think about this before commenting... if the GPS is 5" in size from opposing corners (say, top left to bottom right), and using it as a reference, the TV is only just over 2-times larger, which would put it closer to 12" or 32cm.
Yes I realise the TV is heaps more than 2-times larger, but I'm only talking about the screen span from corner to corner.

GPS is more likely 4".
Screen is 12"
I'd expect someone with 9 GPS units plastered about their dash to get pulled over also.
Also, people get pinged for having a 2" gauge on the dash or an air freshener hanging from there mirror because it's a distraction.
This truckie is a dumb fuck.

And a lot of them do it. I've driven with a few guys who plonk the portable DVD player/screen combo on the dash and watch while driving. It's a little unsettling.

It's that common now that a large percentage of the trucks i pass up north have the blue flickering glow of a TV visible though the windscreen at night.

Kenworth windows are small, there's no way that's a 32". The visors are even down.

fact or just speculation to sound cool? Been watching a little to much ACA and TT i reckon.
I know of plenty who dont fall into this catagory and given how regulated and checked the trucking industry is i doubt therre is many at all who still drive to in them conditions.

Given I was one for a few years. Get a reality check. No one I drove with was ever on the gear. Those days are long gone. Might be a few cowboys left. But most have gone.

Worked 3 years offsiding in a truck, around town and country trips. Watching dvds on trips, getting on the piss, reading pornos in peak hour traffic... Just commenting based on my experiences.
