Firstly mods please move this if it's in the wrong section !
Well as some of you may or may not know Matt aka Tochhi lost his dad R.I.P Steve, a few years back now his Mum aka Bev is walking from
Kalgoorlie to Perth, I thought that I would try and help her get some funds raised as it's all getting donated to charity ! And since my auntie is currently going through Chemo for the fourth time yes that's right she has been attacked by cancer 4 times, it would mean a lot to me and
Matt if you could donate even the smallest amount to such a great cause, here is what is written on the website:
Hi Everyone,
I have decided to do a Wittenoom Children fundraising walk from Kalgoorlie to Perth from the 1st May to the 5th May.
The funds will be put to valuable research of finding a cure from this deadly disease of Asbestos and Mesothelioma.
Medical solutions which may save many lives of the unfortunate victims, like my gorgeous Steve that died of Mesothelioma at 49, far too young.
He was super fit ,had a brilliant mind, he was an Electronic Engineer had a MBA in Business and Finance, but Mesothelioma doesn't care who you are, is not a heredity disease.
It takes 30 to 40 years to manifest, he got the deadly blue asbestos fibre into his lung at 3 or 4 years of age possibly when his mum was washing his fathers overalls in the laundry.
Steve donated extra blood for research every 2 weeks in the hope that if it couldn't save him that one day it could save Read more...
someones loved one.
This walk to me is a such an enpowering one that Steve would have thought I was a crazy woman to walk this far.
I want to make a difference, to make people aware of how lives can change in a minute and all your future dreams together disappear.
This disease must be stopped!!!
Please help me to raise an amazing amount.
The sky is the limit
Thanks everyone
Bev
