So i just got a call from Wannaroo auto trans; The tranny on the soarer is fucked. All clutches are gone etc. and needs a complete rebuild, they quoted me $2920 (rebuild to stock specifications)
This sounds a touch on the high side, or is this the going rate?
Other option is the buy a second hand box, but then the same thing could happen down the track.
Not too sure what to do, they are currently just waiting for my go ahead;
Thoughts on price or other options?

LOL. Fuck that. Could buy a new soarer for that, or do an R154 conversion. I'd just grab a second hander.

Yeah could even go something like this:
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/dianella/engine-engine-parts-transmission/a340e-mv-stage-2/353996029
and get them to chuck it in and then it would still work out cheaper. But without being on the car, you don't know how 'accurate' the sellers description is.
is there much of a difference with the supra a340e? ie; what needs to be change to make it fit? or pretty no go zone?

i got an aparant stage 2 mv auto box to suit soarer , $1500 if you want it (inc a 3200 stall and mv 1.5 shift kit )
mv stage 2 box , around $2500
2nd hand soarer box's $100-400 ( they are getting hard to find now )
also i know c-red has one on the floor that came from a crashed car , i think they want around $400 for their's and at least offer and fitting service too.

I'm gonna start buying these boxes in bulk, buy the Kevlar kits and rebuild them and sell them for about 2k and still make a tidy profit :)
Take about 2 hours to fully rebuild one of these :)
