1996 180SX Type X

Ok, have decided on getting a 1996 180SX Type X, are they a better car than the older 180? I read some good reviews on the motor in them in hot 4's.
anyone have any opinions on this car? like what power ratings can be made from that motor are they from the S15 silvia? I have my heart set on puting a S15 silvia front on it too which look hot:) I want to use it for an every day car and to make it show material. what do they normally go for. I saw one for sale on autotrader for 17 grand (silver in colour) and it was a awsome car LOVE THE SHAPE, interior, engine bay and updated rear setup!

Hey mate.
Its a blacktop sr20det, however doesn't come with a t28 or vvti s15 features... comes with a t25g and i dont believe any major changes to the redtop engine.
Depends what turbo you put on it but a HKS GTRS can make over 240rwkw around the limit of the standard internals on the sr20s.
The kit, seat upgrades and tail lights make it a much nicer car, however expect 16-17k to be the cheapest you'll find an unmodified or lightly modified version, usually around 20k for a nicely modified one which is fairly rare!!
I very much reccomend them and am considering one myself :)

yeah I am quite happy in paying 17 for one... Its something I really want and they are not so common. Cheers for the recomendation Jazz
