Cheers Bart I'll give them a call tomorrow if I get the chance, so far i've found that they make an ARB air locker for the rear. The only thing i've found for the front is a LOKKA on www.4wdsystems.com.au but I dont know of anyone who's used one before. Does anyone have any info on these things?

The LOKKA is a good locker but make sure it is setup properly, the guys that bart mentioned did my front and rear locker the front is awesome(elocker) the rear is the lokka and they didnt quite set the backlash up right and can be a bit of a bitch to drive. Other than that its an awesome bit of gear. If your puting it in the fron just be careful of using to much throttle when turning out in the bush coz you will snap cvs. And if it is auto locking hubs ie. vacum or electric then you will have to convert to manual locking hubs. Find out if you can get a arb or e-locker for the front that way you can choose if you want it on or off

as far as i was aware when fitting a LOKKA or auto locker diff you didnt need to adjust the diff back lash or anything like was a simple bolt out bolt in affair. A diesel mechanic who use to do the trucks at my old work had one in the front of his hilux and reckons it is great. But when he came to off sand/mud and onto a limestone or hard packed track he would jump out and unlock one hub or he would get pretty bad understeer if he tried to turn under power.

I believe MrSparkle (shane) on here runs a Lokka diff front and rear in his hilux.

Cheers Hess. I rang Opposite Lock today. They sell the Air Locker for the rear. I wanted elockers front and back but you cant get them to fit the R51's. I'll have to keep lookin. Any other forums that might have some info??

when u pull the rear center r u intrested in selling it? I will have to double check the model numbers but have been told a rear pathfinder LSD will bolt into the front GQ diff housing giving a a cheap LSD front.

the R51 doesnt have an LSD. Its got traction control only

The system in the R51 is ok but it takes some getting used to as the normal mentality of saving CV's is to back off when you have a wheel in the air or cya later when that wheel lands. The R51's traction control is slow to kick in so you have to keep the revs up a bit then it works ok. Still un nerving tho..

As for the locker. ARB have their airlocker but TJM dont have anything to suit. The diff is strong but the front end is shit and there has only JUST been a lokka released for the front. Be warned, you wheel it and use it like a normal 4wd and you will be replacing diffs often

ARB US were trialing them for ages, but gave up

this forum has everything you will need to know about the R51. GTREA was also active on there until he sold his

I just joined that forum. Lots of helpful advice. As far as i can tell the 2005 didnt come with it. Once a wheel comes up it just stops. By fitting a front lokka it'd stop the lifted front wheel from spinning at 150 mpfuckingh thus preventing a smashed diff?? (correct me if i'm wrong.) I'm suprised how capable it is considering it has no lsd. These LOKKAS are good for beach?

not sure how these will go mate - the R51 has auto hubs

is yours an ST or ST-L / TI

i think the 05 ST might have had a normal LSD, where the models above had traction control ABLSD i think its called

either way, carefull with the front, definately dont shockload it or its game over

AFAIK the R51 is fine to have the LOKKA cos its not a constant 4wd. It has 2hi, auto, 4hi and 4low. The website specifies that with the LOKKA installed you can no longer use the auto function. With the constant 4wd cruisers and whatnot it tells you to buy the manual hub kit as well. As stated here http://www.4wdsystems.com.au/index.php?id=66 If anyone cares to read it and maybe point out if i missed anything...

mate, trust me. Dont run a lunchbox locker in the front

spend the coin and get something in the back, or go air in the front

ARB do an air locker for the rears but nothing for the front. The only thing i could find for the front is a LOKKA up until a few days ago anyway. There's an Eaton Elocker available for the Navara and both run same fronts so i'll be goin with an Elocker instead. Now to save the coins.

good to hear :)

e-lockers are getting some good reviews over the airleakers

The Lokka's are great for the price, but cars with auto hubs tend to get a bit upset with the system as a Lokka is always locked and unlocks on corners
