More of a reminder to people to be vigilant when on the roads. I know most people aren't stupid around here, but I just wanted to share with you guys of what happened to me.

I was heading out tonight around 7:30pm on Beach Rd (near Wanneroo Rd) when I noticed a car behind me flickering their high beams at me constantly while indicating to signal for me to pull over. They also had one of those LED torches that have the flicker mode held in the middle of their dash, which to me, made me think afterwards that they were pretending to be a cop. (I've been pulled over by an undercover police car with their lights on before).

So I pulled over to see what they wanted, as part of me thought they were getting my attention to tell me that there was something wrong with my car.

An indigenous guy walked up to the car and asked me to show him my license and registration. So I said okay. Then he said that I needed to get out of my car and I said okay. Just as I did that, I put into first gear and did a runner. (Luckily my girlfriend told me to lock the door before he approached otherwise it may not have been such a lucky escape). The car was chasing me for a bit but I managed to lose them.

Can't believe they had the balls to do that, when it was obvious he wasn't a cop, wearing some dark blue jacket with an adidas shirt. Really?

Unfortunately because it all happened so quickly, I wasn't able to see/ get any info on the car that they were driving, but I hope justice will catch up to them.

Take it as you may, but just a reminder that shit heads are out there so stay alert.

Yeah I wouldn't have got out of the car unless I saw a badge, and to be honest I wouldn't have even pulled over without a badge. Still glad you got out of it ok.

Could have been a lot worse, like this guy: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-02-19/man-slashed-with-machete-in-car-jacking/3838350

Man slashed with machete in car-jacking

A man is in hospital after he was slashed multiple times with a machete during a car-jacking in Melbourne's south-east tonight.

Police have been told the 28-year-old was sitting in his car at Cranbourne North when he was approached by two men and ordered to get out the car.

When he refused, the men stabbed him through the open car door until he stumbled out, then they took his wallet and phone and drove away in his car.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the attack to come forward.

LOL!
Sorry to hear mate but "license and registration" is America not here.
Glad you wised up and got out of there. Good work!

Wouldn't have pulled over without a badge?

I had some guy on the freeway pull up beside me in a VR commodore ute and he flashed a police badge at me an asked me to pull over. The first thing he did when he approached was showed me that he was an undercover cop. Otherwise why the hell would I pull over?

Then again any thief could make up a badge but most of the Would-be young aboriginal blokes are too unorganised to do this.

Had someone open my door a couple months back and I just floored it (in the Hilux) - they were lucky they didn't end up under the car (they hung onto the door), they flung off away from the vehicle 20-30m down the road.

Since then - doors locked every time, especially at lights and night time.

I know it was 7.30 pm but any chance you saw the car and/or licence plate? Should report it at least to the cops to get the word out there. I dread to see some innocent person/family getting screwed over this!

It's always easy to say he should have thrown them a beating, but he had his missus in the car. Better to be safe than look back and wish he had done things differently.

I stopped because I they were trying to get my attention. I wasn't thinking that there were coons planning on jacking my car, unfortunately I was half thinking it would be a good samaritan, which I realise is rare these days :(

The second I saw the guy, I knew something was going on. I immediately thought of this

which unfortunately, he wanted more.

I think things could have been differently if I had a couple of mates in the car, instead of my girlfriend, but still there was another person in their car so you wouldn't know what they would have on them such as a knife or other sort of weapon.

I was just lucky that the right lane lights just turned green (even though I was meant to turn left onto Wanneroo) so I could do a runner, as there were cars stopped at the light.

I would have imagined that if I had to stop at the light, they would try to go for round two.

I was in my Evo :) No idea what car they were in as unfortunately it had gotten dark by that time.
