Surley you jest sir?
This fine man is purley curious as to what turbo to put on his 3SGTE and the ecu he will ultimatley run with it.
He may have to sell a few things to fund this project but surley this is not the reason for the sudden influx in posts? He used to race cars and move them via CEVA from Adelaide - He also plans on going on holiday to Europe in the not to distant future!

I am sorry, I dont not realise the original poster had and intention too travel too Europe and had also used Ceva to transport Race cars. My sincerest aplogises I mistook the posting as those usually employed to up ones post count to allow the sale of items in a more timely manner.

If he put what one he is looking at for his application it would've been taken seriously i think.

OP has sudden influx of posts throughout the forum in no off topic sections they make no real sense other than to get post count up...
It would appear he has somthing to sell, not really contribute to the forum - unless he wishes to prove us wrong. Then by all means I will be happy to entertain such discussions.
I await OP's reply

Gees didn't think such a simple question would get such a shit reply..
Sure I'm new on here but thats cos im fairly new to Perth and dont have ANTILAG where I come from. Just because I spend one night on this forum and comment on things like the euro trip beacuse its a bloody good idea and nothing like that happens where i come from doesn't mean I'm trying to sell shit.
It was a genuine question about the whole range but if you guys want to help me i'm more specifically building a 3sgte and want some info on some new gear. I have seen one of these (GTX4202R i think it was) on Ryan's (nukem) ex OVABOOST Evo and thats making some 700 odd hp..now for the set up i'm running I'm interested in the GTX3071R which I'd love to see 400+hp on E85 out of the little 2 litre while still being responsive. I've built the fuel system to cope with the go go juice and am planning on changing from my adaptronic ecu to a Haltech E11v2 ecu as I know someone that runs this with a 3sgte and my map is just for NA but I really want to know forum members hands on experience with these turbo's? I also would like to know what people think they are like in comparrison to the common GT range, and the GCG's for example the GCG 30/76R? This is what used to be on Beau Yates 3sgte when it was making about 300hp from memory. Sure the GTX claim to have 5 or 10% better flow with the billet compressor wheel but even speaking with the guys at MTQ and TURBO TECH they havn't shed much light on the situation unfortunately. They wern't very familliar with the 3sge or 3sgte engines. I know alot of the crew here run RB26's and SR20's so if anyone has any SXE10/Beams knowledge that'd be great! Looking around the cheapest I could find a GTX3071R was about $1,100 so it's in my price range. Like everyone else I dont want to fork out the money if im going to be wrong with my choice! This topic was intended to be more about oppinions and the discussion of GTX's to help people in my situation.
I dont mean to turn this into a "build" question rather than general turbo question but any info would be appreciated! i'd like this discussion to stay more as a general GTX range topic so it can help other members thinking simillar things!! Dont know how strict the moderators are with canceling wrong posts in wrong topics so if you want to answer my questions in realtion to my build feel free to PM me your thoughts.
Cheers

thanks for your reply, you have to excuse us we do get jokers coming on and posting rubbish just to get to the magical number where they can sell things so people react when they see a new guy post on lots of random topics
as for the gtx... I think I know of three cars using them so far, all have had exceptional results eg 478hp on an unopened rb25 but other will need to fill you in on the details
gtx3071 for $1100 seems cheap... what does the housing and shipping add to that? I'm quite keen to give one a go

GTX series generally aren't supplied with rear housings, so budget that in.

Do the gtx cores fit gt cores? Ie. GT35 to GTX35? Or even to Gtx30?

This may be off topic but a few years back I had a 3sgte using a gt3540 1.06 engine was all built up and well tuned running 311kw on 18psi on pump gas with a lot more left in it. Boost came on strong around 4000 through 8000 and never popped it. Best turbo out of 4 i went through.
And thanks guys atleast now I know why I could not sell my car on here :)

Check out the Precision turbos theres one on here and they are starting to take off over east, also Borg Warner turbos are on high demand but they cant keep up with the demand so yeah.

You use the GT ex. housings as the rear end is the same, the compressor housings different, most adding surge slots.
Realistically the GTX series are just a slightly better version of the GT series turbos, nothing radically different about them.
BorgWarner EFR series on the other hand are more of a paradigm change and would be my choice, if you can get it to fit...
