Tough call but here goes.

1st Carl Edwards - Only missed out by a bee's dick from winning last years title, I think it's his time.
2nd Jimmie Johnson - I to expect Jimmie to have a better season, not sure on 1st though.
3rd Kyle Busch - Only if he can pull his head in. Same goes for Keselowski.
Roughie - Kasey Kahne

Who will win Daytona ?

Pick a number, any number.

I think which ever team can adapt the quickest to the change to EFI may give themselves and driver/s an advantage. Some may think it's a fairly small change in the scheme of things but considering how the slightest adjustment on these cars can mean the difference between being in the top 10 or at the back of the field, I think its a pretty big deal. No amount of pre-season testing can compare to a 40+ car/500 mile race.
I'm expecting it will become clearer who the front runners are after 5 or so rounds.

Ford have revealed their 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Fusion.
I'm detecting a slight resemblance to an Aston Martin in the front end styling.

Was looking a little off the pace early but after about 20 laps the car started to come to him.
Ambrose was lucky not to get collected by Busch's speed wobbles on lap 28 and then avoiding Logano's spin on lap 55 after he gave him a little love tap.
Although I'm not a fan of Busch, I've got to give him credit for his drive.

Danica takes pole for Nationwide race at Daytona

The 35th of 50 drivers to make a qualifying attempt, Patrick posted a lap at 182.741 mph and waited as drivers who had been faster in practice attempted to unseat her.

That didn't happen. Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn't knock her off. Nor could Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch or any of the drivers who followed her in the qualifying order

Montoya just cleaned up the track cleaning truck which then burst into flames. They're still trying to put out the fire.

Race could be stopped depending on how much damage the fire has done to the track.

Doesn't help when the trailer is full of jet fuel.

Just to clear up my previous post, I was not saying it's dumb to have a truck with jet fuel on the track, more it was unfortunate that the truck was full to the top with jet fuel.
May have been less intense and easier to extinguish if the truck was only 1/4 or 1/2 full. (Some of my quick replies lack good explanation)

Another issue has arisen, looks like rain is not far away.

Looks like Bristol is going back to the old one line track since ticket sales have gone way down since they added the progressive banking. I like it how it is now, but I did miss the tempers flaring and contact of the old style short track racing. I reckon if they went to the old style on one end and progressive the other it'd work out ok... I went to the night race in '08 for the first night race with the new configuration and couldn't help but think I was missing out on the old style racing.

Auto Club Speedway is the worst, I think I'll just record the race and watch the last 5-10 laps..

I love his replies to dumb ass questions

reigning champion Tony Stewart became frustrated with questions about the lack of recent caution periods.

What followed may well be the funniest, most outrageous and bizarre rant in sporting history.

The whole exchange was recorded by veteran NASCAR journalist Jim Utter, who uploaded it online in an audio file.

"We didn’t quite crash half the field, which is what we normally look to do here," Stewart began.

"I got a lot further than I thought I would before I got crashed so I call that was successful day."

As questions about the style of racing under the new SuperSpeedway rules continued, "Smoke" was only just firing up.

Nowhere to my knowledge did Ambrose state his poor result was caused by his back spasms.
It was common knowledge he was having issues with it over the weekend.
It was I who suggested it may have contributed to his poor finish, not Ambrose.
If you read or heard different then fair enough.

Its like a playoff series - the top 12 can only win the title after a certain number of races.

You can be 13th, win every race in the chase, and still not win the title.

Count the first 3/4 of the season as pre-qualifying for the finals.

Nascar.com website sucks balls. If you are not familiar with it, it is far too hard to find the results from the last race.

They're also slow when reporting results which is pretty average seeing they're the official NASCAR website.

Saw Ambrose finished 8th. Did anyone watch the race? What happened?

Ambrose was quick for the first 10 laps but started to have handling issues as his tyres wore.
He spent the rest of the race mostly in the teens while the team tried its best to sort out the balance of the car.
On the final restart with 2 laps to go (green-white checker) Ambrose managed to gain 6 spots from position 14th to finish in 8th.
As the two previous poles show they've got a very quick car but they're struggling to replicate that qualifying pace to full race conditions.

Kenseth said I was trying to get through there, and Tony Stewart wiped the whole side off my car in the straightaway for no reason and that kind of made me mad."I was in front of Marcos Ambrose and saw he had a run, so I went down to block and he went across the grass and shot me up out of the groove there. Bad luck award goes to Jimmie Johnson who looked like he had it in the bag until his motor blew with 6 to go.

Dale Jr letting him lead a few is what saved his ass , was awesome to see him come back from being a lap down . Bowyer ran out of fuel doing his victory burnout then thanked Juan during interview for taking him out earlier LOL

Was great hearing Cry Busch sooking on the radio :D

With one race to go Keselowski only needs to finish 15th or better to take out the championship. Bowyer's chance to take out the title ended today with his run in with Gordon which only leaves Johnson who didn't help his cause by putting his car into the wall on lap 234.

Yea but next week it could be Brad cutting down a tyre .

pingpingpingping act for sure :/

Gordon all but admitted to taking a boys-have-at-it approach, lying in wait to wreck Bowyer in Sunday's closing laps of the AdvoCare 500 after seeing the hopes of his Hendrick Motorsport teammate, Johnson, take a severe hit with flat tire and 32nd-place finish.
