My nismo coppermix singo plate isn't holding the massive sr20 power
So which would you choose as a replacement and why?

nismo coppermix twin plate.
if you want something that's going to last, just go a twin plate now. the twin plate coppermix is probably the least harsh out of any twin plates i've personally used. didn't seem to be as unpredictable once its hot/warm as some other twin plates can be.
if not that, make sure the clutch plates are sprung, otherwise it will be really harsh on the street in stop start traffic (i'm not sure if your still using your car as a daily or not?).

Nismo coppermix twin plate, or os giken ( preferably one with alloy pressure plate and lightened flywheel for rev happiness). Both aren't really harsh, feels like standard clutch in a gtr.

+1 for OS Giken twin. Is very friendly in comparison to other twin plates i've had...

with the std 6 speed i wouldnt go a twin plate unless u want to replace the gearbox often, depending on how you drive it, and what ive seen shannon isnt scared to give the car abit of a thrashing. IMO i think the twin plate will cause the 3rd gear circlip to come off and in turn the box fail quicker.
look into a puk style clutch with a sprung centre, and an uprated pressure plate.

a single plate that would be able to handle that power comfortably would end up having a heavy pedal feel, unless you upgrade your clutch slave also to help, a twin plate will have a much lighter feel. i do agree with you though about breaking that 3rd gear assembly made from glass, but the good thing about the coppermix is it's basically two full face or organic clutch plates, they do a good job of absorbing a lot of energy and are a lot more forgiving than a puk twin plate like os or exedy etc.

^^^ i like the sound of what jaybee said
Also I dont lack clutch control like sam, and have a spare box.
Once i've smashed two boxes I'll look at rb25 etc but I haven't managed to kill one yet and I think the sSix speed is underated on the internets

I have an OS Giken twin in my S15 (S14 5 speed box)
It's generally fine to drive around in traffic but you have to rev a bit more than you expect to start moving unless you want to slip it a lot, which I just don't like doing. Makes you seem like angryman on quiet streets.
Should add that I drive an auto 95% of the time, so maybe I just lack the finesse / motor skills to get it moving smoothly... I'm not ruling that out :)
I haven't tried anything else, but have been happy with how this clutch handles track use.
NPC Billet Twin. I have photos somewhere of it next to a HKS Twin. It makes Jap clutches look like cheap flimsy shit. 500+RWHP, drop 3rd, no problems. clutch loves it! pedal is lighter than the HKS twin and even lighter than the upgraded single plate (what ever it is) in my red supra. They are towards the more expensive end of the scale but I believe they are quite economical to rebuild. http://www.npcperformance.com.au/npc_products_tp.html

i voted for the most $$$$$$$$$$$
I believe they can make them for any application. Would be surprised if they dont do them for an SR. website might not be up to date. Got mine through ITP, give Aaron a call tomorrow and ask him.

Box may not appreciate the 'drop 3rd no worries' approach in a S15.....

And npc clutch is around $400-$500 more... too much to spend on an sr20.
