Hey everyone

I'm currently putting the feelers out into the market for a new job.

For the past 2 and a bit years I have been working as a mechanical design draftsperson for a mining equipment manufacturing company that specializes in building truck bodys, both aftermarket and oem for such people as Komatsu, Caterpillar, Rio Tinto, BHP, fmg etc, excavator buckets, front end loader buckets, face shovels, water trucks, service modules, Tyre handlers, maintenance stands etc etc.

My highest level of education is a Diploma of engineering that i completed at tafe before commencing this job. The reason I'm looking to move on from here is because I work 45 hour weeks and only get paid for 38 hours (I hated that at the beginning but took the job to get a foot in the door into the industry) and judging from what other jobs are paying, I'm well below the standard for a drafty.

I'm currently using Pro-Engineering software package, however I have had previous experience with solid-works, AutoCAD and I'm currently in the process of having a play with Inventor and microstation. Also I have had some experience here at work with the EDEM and ANYS which are programs used to analyze particle interaction.

Ideally I'm seeking another job in the mining industry or oil and gas industry.

If anyone knows of anything shoot me a pm or an email to sigma_freak@hotmail.com

Thanks
John

Send a resume to info at cadds dot com dot au

I think they we are looking for people that can utilise solidworks and such in house - attention it to Darren Clark as he runs the Engineering field and also to Brendan Jarvis as he deals with the solidworks guys at the moment.

Edit: I don't know about the pays so don't ask, if I knew I would have already mentioned it to you. Sorry man. :(

haha nah man, guy just turned 30. Been working here last 8 years or so....

Edit: To give you a rough idea though - full time working week is 40 hours, anything on top is 1.5x pay, site trips are done at 20% loading on top of your normal pay rate, super is paid. Solid works stuff is done in the East Vic Park office, Engineering office is in Bibra Lake. There is a Karratha office also that site trips can be done to. The energy and architectural guys just moved to their own office in Bibra Lake.
