Thanks mek checked sau looks like its small missfire form plugs, coils or CAS start with changing plugs first.

Try regapping your plugs to say like .7mm or thereabouts it might fix the problem. save you having to buy new plugs.

0.8mm should be sufficient
Also will backfire more if you have externally venting BOV and/or no cat

hey boys in relation to backfire problem..I changed the plugs and gapped them to .8...After changing pugs i started the motor and noticed i could hear a minor air leak from somewhere looked around and guess wot found that the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose was split ad had fallen off therefore was getting un regulated fuel pressure causing it to fuel up under load....So prolly the problem all along so always check all vaccum hoses on b4 changing parts....:) cheers... Oh and 1 more thing after all that noticed hicas dash light was on havent seen it on b4...Prolly an unrelated problem but has anyone no anything about this?...cheers
BOOST IS FUN!....

Hahahahaha the joys of having HICAS. just live with it. The lights alwyas come on.
Better still install a HICAS lock of some description so you wont have to worry bout ****ty hicas anymore.

backfire can be caused by not having a catalitic converter or having a %$@#ed one.. check that. HICAS huh?? low fluid?? R32's have a fluid pressure switch as well as a fluid level switch that activate the light.. check fluid level 1st, if thats ok.... Tomei HICAS lock kit, $165 on SAU....

If your talking about a tru backfire..... back into the plenum
Is the backfiring more like a antilag bang if so you might want to consider taking it to a doctor might be a leaking plenum/runner gasket
I have started getting a slight miss at idle...it seems to go away after the car is warmed up most of the time. I suspect it to be coil or spark plug related but if anyone has any other suggestions i am all ears.
Anyone?

old rb20 common problem
few causes dirty injectors, dead spark plugs, corrorions in the coil nodes, plugs to coil dirty.....
