A Northern Territory woman has been jailed for fatally stabbing a friend during a drunken dispute over a meat pie.

Cindy Wunungmurra, 47, had been drinking with her female friend when the pair went to a house in Nhulunbuy, about 650 kilometres east of Darwin, in June last year.

The friend started to cook a meal but an argument flared over who owned a tinned meat pie.

Wunungmurra grabbed a knife and fatally stabbed the woman in the chest.

lol. Only in the NT.

According to the NT News link above, the offender, Cindy Wunungmurra, is one of Yothu Yindi's cousins!

See, what I believe happened here is, Ms Wunungmurra obviously decided not to call a..

As a staple of my diet for nearly 20 years, I understand the motive.

I get tired of aboriginals asking for cash, the temptation to stab them never got the better of me though

weird thing living up north, you never get boongs asking for money because they already have more than anyone else in town, worst part is walking past them, especially indoors at the shops or something, the smell literally makes you gag

Wickham was alright in the 1990's... Went up there a couple of years ago and it was quite sad to see how shit it's become.

wickham is literally 50/50, if you live on the good side of town it's great, no natives live on that side and people have flat screen tv's and shit under their front verandahs, nothing gets touched.
the other side is covered in rubbish and car wrecks with broken glass littered everywhere, it's a fucking shithole, even though i'll get a company house on the good side in the next month i'll still look to go fifo again once i'm able to.

Wickham. lolol. I lived there for two years, '05-mid'07. On Pay day the natives line their Prados, 100series, XR8's, SS's, Clubbys, all newish out front of the of the bottlo in the morning, waiting for it to open so they can stock up on grog.

Although whoever runs the chew and spew infront of Woolies must be absolutely loaded. One of the only local food spots open through out the day and people are constantly buying that fried shit

Lol i miss Darwin and the NT.

Funniest thing i saw up there was going into the Nightcliff shops (small regional shop with a woolies and newsagent etc) to pick up a mate from work. 2 abo blokes and a women sitting down busking for money, 1 bloke on a guitar, a bloke "singing" amd a women using a tent peg and a stick as clapping sticks. Anyways a woman infront chucks in what appears to be $2 (standard asking fee from an abo), singer stops singing to look in the rag in front of them to see what she chucked in, bloke on guitar pushes him back to try and keep him singing. Singer grabs the rag in an attempt to swindle the prize, big money spill follows. Woman then proceeds to throw tent peg at singer and then a big rage follows as woman gets backhanded by guitarist and singer starts arguing while trying to pick the loose change up.

I went inside to pick the mate up and grab something to eat. 10 minutes later outside me and my mate spotted the 3 of them dividing a pack of smokes, complete with a few new toilet paper bandages.

See the absolute extremes up there, alot of smaller chain bottle-o's just dont stock cask wine and cheap port, being asked once by a young "woman" to buy a bottle of methylated spirits despite having the worst bloodshot and puss ridden eyes as well as various stains and scabs. Being involved a a large brawl that made the front page of the NT news where on a saturday night along Mitchell street, A abo asked a bloke for a cigarette, he replied fk off abo etc, 30 appeared out of the shadows of the park infront of parliment house and chased him up the street, every bloke in line for the nightclub jumps out of line to fight the coons off and despite the cop shop being less than a couple of hundred metres away, the cops rock up 10 mins late.
