He claims to be dubstep, but his music tarnishing the genre. Just mashes shit annoying noises together with no hint of rhythm or talent. Yet somehow gets famous.

Love him or hate him, got to appreciate the influence he has had on the scene. Dubstep was boring as shit anyway before he came along.
Everyone just loves hopping on that band wagon.

He's been around for ages, went by Sonny Moore originally IIRC. Also some other name I can't remember.
Most of his remix stuff is more dubsteb than his own stuff.

The remix he did of promises with nero is still top 3 songs of all time.
Aswell as his remix of aviciis levels. His production skills are insane.

Unfortunately his biggest songs have been on the more unimaginative/formulaic/unenjoyable side

his name is Sonny Moore, he was the lead singer for From First To Last.. he has been around a lot longer than dubstep has been.
you either love or hate his style of production but he has put dubstep commercially on the map in America and around the world. most of my friends that hate dubstep/electro would know a skrillex track when it comes on.

Skrillex is to dubstep what Pendulum was to DnB.
Old players in the game, but got a taste of the mainstream and got cocky trying to change the scene, producing what they thought non genre people want to hear.
