I'm not familiar with jail breaking on a android device (SGS2). $30 is harsh, but after thinking about it, it's only $1.50 a race and really, I'd blow $30 in a weekend on maccas :/

Although 2nd week running with Lewis on Pole and not winning, i think he is doing well, he is 2nd in championship and only 5 points down on Alonso, who is driving a car that isn't as competitive.
LOL people trying to give Lewis shit - how was Jenson Crashington today?
Not only did he have an accident of his own - and the accident wasnt even RACING - he was lapping a HRT, then he was so slow on the freshest tyres in the field!
Wrexter
25-03-2012, 07:22 PM
Lewis was actually closing in on Alonso in the second half of the race, but Perez was closing in faster.
Lewis had a few issues in the pitlane, and fuck me i cant understand why they brought Lewis in a lap after Alonso pitted for Options, so fucking obvious it was time.
Sergio was actually on the primes, maybe the primes where the tyre to be on or the Sauber worked better on them, who knows.

Great race, even better result! Alonso leading the championship, didn't expect that but no complaints...hopefully he can hang near the top until they get him a decent car.
Great race. Fell asleep during the rain stop.
Brilliant strategic drive by Perez. Say what you will about the Ferrari team orders, it did look blatantly obvious Perez was going to overtake Alonso until he got the call over the radio to stay put. I wonder if he ran wide deliberately to prevent himself from doing so?
Was surprising to see Jensen make a few uncharacteristic mistakes and I had to chuckle at Sebastians orders at the end: "box box box.. come in now.. stay out... stop the car!..."

Awesome drives from Alonso and Perez... Was hopin Perez was gonna get him in the last couple laps.
Great drive from Senna too.
Dont like him at all, but felt for Maldonado today.

Good race. I was personally disappointed with Jenson clipping the HRT and basically ruining his race but based on what Lewis managed I'd still say the McLaren's didn't have the race pace to win. Great drive by Fernando and Perez with cars no one thought would be at the pointy end of the field. 2 races in and I think this season is going to be one of the best in a long time.

Vettel has so much attitude. LOL!...
his hand was up in the air a few times..
''QUESTION: Do you feel more comfortable in the car this year? Is it the tyre performance?
WEBBER: Probably a little bit tyres, but I started to get a handle of those in the back part of the championship. The cars were very, very different – all the cars, not just ours – in terms of how the blown diffuser worked into the corners, it was very sensitive on rpm.
These cars are a little bit traditional. They are a little bit more like a race car. The blown diffuser was an extreme bit of kit and I probably never really got my teeth right into those.''
Remember, Vettel only begun getting the upper hand on Mark once RBR introduced the blown difuser in Silverstone 2009.
I actually quite like seeing vettel losing his cool - he never performs when he is like that!
Adr3naL1N
26-03-2012, 11:09 AM
he definitley will start to get very frustrated soon if these performances/being out qualied by mark keep up. His not used to be being so far down the grid off the line and not finish top 3 seeing how he dominated all of last year plus won the last two championships. Webber may have out qualified him both times but vettel did look better in the race, he overtook mark yesterday before he crashed into the HRT.
Sucks isnt it like 3 weeks til china now? how to last this break!!!
To be fair the Redbulls fucking Sucked in the wet - both drivers were struggling with the cars at different points!
MadDocker
26-03-2012, 11:15 AM
Will be interesting to see where Mark & Seb are placed by mid season. If* Webber is ahead in the championship and consistently out qualifying and beating Vettel, does RBR give him the good bits and would Vettel listen to team orders to give Webber points in the drivers??
*Not an insignificant if.
Shithouse luck for Button hitting the HRT shitter. Great race though, and a refreshing start to the season.

Nice article to read as a MW fan! It's too early to make any sweeping statements but we all know Seb was the coolest and nicest guy in the world last year when everything ran like a Swiss Watch. Be interesting to see how he deals with the adversity as the year goes on but I don't expect RBR to just stay where they are for too long.

LOL he's not one of the best wet drivers in F1. Where do people get that from?
He's brilliant in DRYING conditions, usually because whoever pulls the trigger first and gets the strategy right can turn a race around, and when it comes to wet/drying strategies he's brilliant. But completely wet races? I wouldn't rate him top 5, not a chance.

Keen to know everyone's top 5 from yesterday? I see JA has included Lewis in his DOTD poll... can't possibly see why.
1. Alonso - no mistakes all day.
2. Perez - would be number 1 if it wasn't for the fuck up at the end, and he lucked into P2 with the early tyre change before the red flag
3. Raikkonen - New to Pirelli wets, started 10th, finished 5th. Only a matter of time before he gets a podium and wins a race.
4. Senna - put the car where it shouldn't have been
5. Vergne - worked wonders, showed DR up big time.
Honourable mention to Lewis. Didn't do anything brilliant, not that we know of anyway. The camera spent too much time on his team mate playing bumper cars.
Raikkonen got fastest lap. Credit there.
Alonso
Perez
Senna/Kimi - Kimi has a faster car, but also had to get there from 10th after the penalty. Same applies for nearly everyone R.E wet tyres as they are a new compound. Ill give to Senna simply based on the overtaking he did during the race - very impressive.
Lewis - considering the dramas Jenson the magical changing condition tyre saving king of F1 had on the inters, Lewis ran one set and maintained his podium spot. You can claim he had pole and gave it away, but it wasnt your normal race, he was easily the fastest car in the wet, and as said destroyed his team mate who is reknowned for being the best guy in these conditions.

Karthikyan copped a drive through penalty for hitting Vettel, and apologized to Vettel after the race. He said he got on the curb, lost traction, came back on the track and hit Vettel by accident.
Would love to know how you think Vettel fucked up, considering everyone else has blamed Karthikyan.

Drivers of the day for me:
Alonso
Perez
Kimi
Senna
Hamilton
The only thing you could possibly say against vettel is this -
had he not been busy waving his arm around and fully concentrating on driving maybe he would ducked inside by the extra foot or so to fully clear the hrt...
and that is a long bow there.
not his fault.

Hmmm.... I might have to watch that incident again. From memory it looked like Karthikyan just simply moved right before Vettel had cleared him. I don't think it had anything to do with losing traction on the kerb.
I give him points for making Vettel rage though.

Also, he apparently called Karthikeyan a "cucumber", not an idiot. I think the world's press just deliberately acted dumb to allow the story to get out unedited. Pretty obvious what he was trying to say.

Not actually a Vettel hater, picked him for his 3rd title this year...
I didn't know he copped a penalty for it, was just the way I saw it looked like he cut across pretty hard on Karthikyan.
But you cant argue with the Stewards can you.

During a post race interview SV also said something along the lines of ˙ou know, there's some idiots driving on the public roads, it appears we have one here" or words to that effect.
IMHO a shared blame situation, Seb didn't leave enough room for error and Karthikeyan made that error.

Same can be said for Perez - got on the right tyres before red flag.
Senna as well.

What Karthikyan got a drive through for that....?
No drive through, they added time onto his finishing position as it was so late in the race (20-30second same time as a drive through)
The FIA handed Kathikeyan a post-race drive-through penalty, which added 20 seconds to his race time and dropped him behind team-mate Pedro de la Rosa in the classification.
Karthikyan defiantly cut across into Vettels back tyre as Vettel moved across as he rightly could, on the racing line. Take back my fked up comment, but a drive through really?
EDIT: A bit harsh but anyway I guess it costed him a high grid position.

Speculation is that Adam Parr was forced to resign because Williams was offered similar terms to RBR and Ferrari in the new Concorde Agreement, but Ecclestone doesn't like Parr very much. In a dog move Ecclestone instead gave the perks to Force India.
Something fishy going on. Sounds like Frank is being his typical pingpingpingpingy self, hoping to get another offer or perks.

Watch from Vettel's on-board. He didn't move once he was passed Karthikyan.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/98390
"Then there was the incident with Vettel. I was letting everyone through on blue flags because I was being told on the radio. I got on the white line, which was still damp, and I was on slicks obviously so I had a lot of wheelspin. I then had to come back on the track from the kerb, and he was there unfortunately and I could not do anything."
Karthikeyan said he spoke to both men to say sorry after the race and, although aware of how costly the tangles could be, he believes backmarkers are sometimes not given enough respect.
"Some of these guys when they lap you, they take the Mickey out of you," he said. "They come and try to push you out of the way to get back on the racing line.
"For me, the conditions were bad, the kerbs were wet and unfortunately this guy was there, so I could not help much."
This is why I don't like Karthikyan. He has a complex about being in a shit car. If you notice, this isn't the first time he's gotten in the way. He seems to want to stay on the racing line even when being passed by people leading.

Autosport driver ratings for Malaysia
Alonso 10
Perez 10
Senna 9
di Resta 9
Hamilton 8
Raikkonen 8
Hulkenberg 8
Vergne 8
Petrov 8
Webber 7
Maldonado 7
Karthikeyan 7
Vettel 7
Schumacher 6
Ricciardo 6
Button 6
Glock 6
Kovalainen 6

Rosberg 5
Kobayashi 5
Grosjean 5
Massa 3
How the fuck does Grosjean get a 5 and Massa a 3? And di Resta a 9? WTF.
Di Resta would be more like a 6 ... Massa a 2 maybe?
Grosjean should get a 3

I won't be surprised if they keep Felipe on for the rest of the year. Thy have kept him on for this long.
Perez did well on the weekend but I still don't think he is best replacement for Felipe, then again Ferrari only want a No.2 driver who doesn't challenge for victory, but brings in consistent points.
Felipe may not challenge Fernando for Victories, but he doesn't bring consistent points either.

You're assuming that the Sauber is a better car overall, which I don't think is the case. You can't really take anything away from Malaysia because of the wet race conditions. Kobayashi was still 15 seconds off Fernando in Australia in the dry.

I think Ferrari is the better car, especially when they sort their shit out.
What about the fact that Perez was on the primes though, where Lewis
And Nando were on options, I think that is part of the reason why Perez was much quicker.
Very idiotic to not bring in Perez for dry tyres when Ferrari brought Nando in. As Ricciardo showed, they were much quicker. Even I it had raine, the worn inters would of been of little use. McLaren made the same fuck up.

as if not move to a fezza given the chance, its hardly like sauber will deliver much more than impressive points every so often (impressive because of the improvement over last year).
ferrari have shown over the years that they eventually adapt, and deliver consistent wins in patches spread out over time. so much cash, so much drive. "passion" etc.
Although making the move you would surely be stuck in #2, the way Alonzo is about all that... but you never know. if he gets lucky he might jump in, get comfy at the end of 2012, they deliver an awesome 2013 car and he might just simply be so far in front of Alonzo they cant demand he pull over and let him through...
that would be the only way he would be going for anything more than runner up, even in the best car.
either way, something horrible is happening to massa. the last time i saw him drive and do well was 2010.

LOL. Bernie Ecclestone... like a motherfuckin' boss!
The Mole had been working very hard all the morning. Spring was moving in the air and he felt the need to get away from the dusty old office, and escape to a bright world without any secret files to be read.
It was a beautiful sunny day on the river bank and, leaving his coat behind him, he informed Miss Pringle-Featherby (of the Berkshire Pringle-Featherbys), his personal assistant, that he was “just going outside and may be some time”.
As he said it, The Mole thought of Captain Lawrence Oates’s last words on Scott’s Expedition to the South Pole in 1910, when he had walked out of the explorers’ tent to certain death in an Antarctic storm, aware that his poor physical state was compromising the chances of survival of his three colleagues.
The Mole left the SIS building and turned right. He walked down to the corner at Bridgefoot and turned right again, on to the approach to Vauxhall Bridge. A little further along the road he ducked to the right, into a stairwell that leads down to the river bank and at the bottom, turned briskly left into the tunnel under the road, to emerge in the sunshine on St George’s Wharf. As he walked he was thinking about Captain Oates and how that sacrificial death had made Oates a hero and an inspiration for the generations that followed, an important thing given that there were two World Wars in which stiff upper lips had often been required.
Oates had been an Eton boy and had learned how a gentleman should behave. The Mole smiled. Oates and Adam Parr had both known the right moment to depart. Chaps from Eton know these things. They are not the type to cling on and hope to survive when they know that all is lost. That is left for politicians from ghastly grammar schools and other such riff-raff.
The Mole decided when he saw the Tate-to-Tate Clipper getting ready to depart that he would take a trip up the river to Bankside Pier, by way of the jetties at Millbank, Embankment and Blackfriars. The 11.44 he would get him to Bankside by midday and he could have a quick nibble in the bar at The Swan at the Globe and then catch the 12.44 back. He would be back in the office just after one.
He hurried aboard and chose a seat by the window, in order to enjoy the riverside views. It was an agreeable environment and the catamaran moved surprisingly quickly.
So Parr is gone from Williams, The Mole said to himself. A sudden and dramatic development. And utterly unexpected. There was clearly more to it than met the eye, for Parr had given no hint of any intended change. He wanted to be judged on what the Williams team could achieve this year, for it was the structure that he had put together that is now under the microscope. But this was not about performance on the track. The team has done well this year, held back perhaps by two drivers who came with cash and have yet to prove their abilities as true F1 stars. They were good enough, but the car clearly needs an Alonso, a Hamilton, a Vettel or a Button to show its true worth.
Sir Frank Williams had no desire to see Parr depart, indeed just a few weeks ago he said that Parr was his natural successor, an odd statement given that his chairman was never really a racing person, but rather a businessman. Parr himself was happy in the role, even if some of those around him wished that he had more racing passion, like his predecessors in the team.
So what happened, thought The Mole. If both parties were happy with one another and Sir Frank was fiercely protective of Parr, what could have caused a resignation? What changed the relationship so fundamentally that Parr would have resigned in just a matter of days?
The Mole looked out at the Houses of Parliament. That was the kind of place where one found people like Adam Parr, rather than in a Formula 1 garage. Parr has a ferocious intellect, which dazzled Williams. Yet in Formula 1, being clever is not always a bonus, and one can be a victim of one’s background. Parr came across as man from Eton and Cambridge, even if his background was not that privileged. He had made it through on intellect alone, as a scholar, not as one of the hunting, shooting and fishing crowd. He had arrived at Williams with no track record in racing, but he soon crossed swords with Bernie Ecclestone over the way the sport should be going.
Ecclestone has run the sport, very successfully in many ways, for a very long time and perhaps he felt that he did not need some floppy-haired smart-arse telling him what was wrong with it. That was the story that was whispered in the F1 paddock and to The Mole it sounded entirely plausible. The irony, of course, is that Max Mosley – another fearsome intellect – had worked closely with Ecclestone for many years, to the benefit of both men. But timing was everything, thought The Mole. Parr was perhaps too smart and too much of a sign of the future, to have become close to Mr E, a man who is an expert at dealing with (and exploiting) those who think that they are super-smart, rather than the ones who really are. The really smart people keep their distance and play their cards close to their chests.
The Mole had little doubt that somewhere in the Parr-Williams story the presence of Ecclestone has been felt. Not long ago Bernie whispered to some hack or other that he did not think Williams was doing things in the right way. He felt that change was needed at the top, rather than in the middle management. The message was clear. Parr was not the man he thought would be good for the job. That was before the team began to perform well, of course. And before Sir Frank Williams took a further step back by leaving the board of directors of Williams.
The Mole considered the environment in F1 at the moment. Ecclestone is trying to convince teams, by any means possible, to sign up to a new Concorde Agreement that will give him carte blanche to do as he pleases with regard to the future. He does not want loose ends that will stop a sale or cloud a flotation and so, as a ruthless businessman, he will use whatever weapons he has at his disposal. Red Bull and Ferrari were easy. There are some people in F1 who can be bought. They say that these are pragmatic business decisions, but they do not help the sport.
The news that McLaren had agreed was a shock. In fact, it was such a shock that The Mole did not believe it. But then McLaren is not as independent as once it was. The team is 50 percent owned by a Bahrain government investment firm. Bahrain needs a Grand Prix more than anything to help to restore confidence in its economy and Ecclestone has the power to take away the Grand Prix. Thus The Mole could see a way in which McLaren could be convinced by its own shareholders to accept something previously unacceptable. The fact that an announcement was made, even though no deal was actually signed, was out of character for Ecclestone and the conclusion to be drawn was that he wanted that information in the public domain before the Bahrain GP happens this year, lest the McLaren management attempt a U-turn after the race is done. This way, McLaren risks facing public scrutiny for welshing on a deal. Such a move might be possible if McLaren could find someone to buy out the Bahrainis, but that is not going to happen quickly.
In the overall scheme of things, only Ferrari, Williams and McLaren really matter. Sauber does what Ferrari wants. Red Bull and Scuderia Toro Rosso obey the rules of Dietrich Mateschitz. Ferrari’s Luca di Montezemolo is a pragmatist who has proved before that Ferrari always comes first and the other F1 teams are only there to be used in his negotiations with Ecclestone. Williams is the only other brand with value. To Ecclestone the Lotuses, Force Indias, Caterhams, Marussias and HRTs are all cannon-fodder. Lotus was smart enough to jump ship and agree to a deal. The others were probably not even asked.
Mercedes may go on fighting but the German manufacturer cannot do much beyond disrupting and delaying Ecclestone’s plans. The board of directors want better results because it is embarrassing to see the factory team being beaten by two of its customers. In the end the Stuttgart folk are unlikely to get involved in a big fight over F1 money, they are more likely to cut their losses and depart. F1 is not their core business.
And Williams? Traditionally, Frank Williams has always been a Bernie man. He has done what Ecclestone wants and has prospered from doing that. There was a point at which he sided with McLaren in a previous negotiation but that did not bring the benefits that he had hoped. And it had disrupted his business. What FW wants is stability and to be able to race without politics. Bernie has given him that, even if Frank thinks that there should be a different division of revenues. Williams is still vulnerable, despite the good figures announced recently. The difference between success and failure is a sponsorship deal of monstrous proportions with the Venezuelan government. That is already fairly tenuous because President Hugo Chaves has cancer and is facing re-election this year. If Chaves dies or the opposition wins the election, Williams’s fortunes will take a tumble.
The hope is that the team will do well enough this year to attract big sponsorship and so be able to use talented youngsters such as Valtteri Bottas, rather than having to take drivers who come with cash. A fight with Ecclestone would not be good for stability.
The Mole pondered further. Perhaps, he thought, Bernie had convinced Frank to agree to his terms and Parr did not agree. That was the kind of thing that would lead to a resignation. Frank might have the utmost respect for Parr, but he and Ecclestone go back far longer and he knows that having Bernie as an enemy is not a good idea, even if you are strong. With FOTA a spent force, the individual teams are on their own.
Yes, said The Mole. That is what happened. It has to be.

Weren't Ferrari waiting until the next test day in May for new sidepods? This means they can have their test day and crash test at the same time, requiring no approval from the teams?
The HRT driver hit back by calling Vettel a "bully", and even David Coulthard - a Red Bull team consultant - defended Karthikeyan.
"He can't make his car invisible," the Scot is quoted as saying by the Mirror.

Except DC isn't a consultant. He's actually in senior management, reports directly to Shitmates. I imagine the bosses weren't too impressed with Vettel's comments either.

I think Ferrari were donig that as its the most logical thing to do, all new car will need some track time to bed in and understand.
Copying it ala Mercedes would require changes to tub/monocoque and nose cone, and im pretty sure that is locked in from the start of the season and no changes are to be made without new crash tests and a valid reason.
Might be one of those grey areas that is decided on the fly...

Speaking of models, does anyone know where I can get a high quality 1/12 scale or larger RB7 model from? Quite keen to start putting together a collection of winning cars from each year, starting with the RB6/7.
Can't find anything decent on eBay.

You're probably gonna struggle to get a collection together if going with 1/12 or larger.
I started doing similar recently, collecting as many F1 title winning drivers/cars as possible (Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Hill so far) but keeping it to 1/18 as there is much more of a choice and the glass cabinets I have would be filled far too quickly with 1/12 models!

1:18 is the best yor gonna et without spending a fortune.
Minichamps make the besy IMO.
Minichamps dont do Ferrari as Ferraro only have a deal with hot wheels and hot wheels make shit models.
Currently have the following:
2007 Hamilon Mclaren MP4-22 1:18
2009 Hamilton Mclaren MP4-24 1:18
2009 Button Brawn GP BGP-01 1:18
2010 Vettel RBR RB7 1:18
Trying to get hamiltons car of each year (obviously) and the winning driver and/or constructor.
If minichamps made Ferrari models I would get one to add to the collection.

Would be nice to find a local distributor who has access to the whole range.

I collect 1:43 models both WRC and F1, I almost always buy online from over seas vendors as local shops sell for crack pipe prices. Got about 80 models so far in a few cabinets.

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone admitted on Tuesday that he was unable to force teams to participate in this month's Bahrain Grand Prix following a fresh outbreak of violence in the Gulf state.
Formula One teams are reportedly reluctant to race in Bahrain this season amid ongoing concerns over security in the country.
Last year's event was postponed following violent anti-government protests before eventually being removed from the schedule altogether.
Now Ecclestone has confirmed that the fate of this year's event on April 22 could be decided by the teams as authorities in Bahrain confirmed seven policeman were injured late on Monday in a bomb attack.
not that its a great race still means one less week of f1 :(

At least if it's cancelled now it doesn't affect the championship though. Wouldn't want a title decided by a race being removed right at the end.

You can thank good old Tony Fernandes for these two. Don’t take everything he tweets too seriously – perhaps he’s still frustrated about owning Caterham instead of Lotus and the fact that he fights HRT and Marussia instead of Mercedes and Ferrari in F1.
And whilst we’re on the subject of jokes - do you know the latest F1 joke? Mike Gascoyne, Caterham Group’s Chief Technical Officer, has gone missing. Why? He’s looking for the 30 to 40 points he predicted for the last F1 season. Funny.
Seriously though, that's one of the most outwardly provocative posts I've seen directly from a company in a long time. The PR department must be having a seizure.

No surprise really, they always package their car bloody tightly.
Here's hoping they ban it, although I don't think they will. Word is Ross Brawn was developing this back in 2011 and the FIA gave it the green light then.
Yup but there is many cases of the FIA banning stuff after green lighting it
