Agree with great price, but LOL @ good work.

I literally threatened them with legal action today over an air-con install they did 2 weeks ago, at an investment place we just built in Bassendean.

Installed it 2 weeks ago, "commissioned it", doesn't work due to a faulty control cable. 3-4 phone calls and emails per day trying to get this control cable replaced, and finally they're doing it tomorrow. If not, legal action commences Monday for consequential loss of income due to not being able to rent the property out.

To top it off, their installer fell through our ceiling in the walk-in robe, and tried to repair it before we found out (but we did find out luckily), the walls have marks on them, the manhole cover is covered in black fingerprints, and the hole they cut in the eaves that the cable duct runs through is larger than the duct itself.. oh, and the zone control panel falls off the wall because the clips are broken.

We will see how well they rectify the issue tomorrow, when they claim they'll be back on-site to fix it.

What type of aircon is it and where do you live? Do you want it repaired or replaced?

If it's replacing a split already in there, installing shouldn't be too expensive as all the refrig lines/power should be there already.

Cheers for all the help so far,

Correct me on any of this info as i have no idea about air cons.

We currently have an Evaporative system, Cool Breeze Heritage D230.
It needs a new motor and new pads, the air con dude that came out said we need a bigger motor for our house,
e.g. a D255 1000w motor.

We are perfectly happy with the D230 as it was more than enough so i think that was maybe a sales pitch.
So now we are just looking for a price on new pads, motor and installation.

Cheers guys.

I think you will also find that your model of A/C should already have a 1000w motor in it.

http://www.coolbreeze.com.au/coolbreeze-model-range/35-coolbreeze-model-range/17-heritage-model-range.html

By memory i think the motor is worth somewhere around $400-$500 not sure on the pad prices. But ill will check tomorrow.

@ MMM,
i just cleaned the return air grill filter (ducted system, with advantage air/airwell 3 phase) & i noticed a lead hanging down near a bracket that a 9v battery could be plugged into.
any idea what its for?
thanks

I got no idea. Have you got a pic of it? Where does the wire go to? Also if you have a model number of the unit i can look up the wiring diagram and see what it might be.

the 2 wires from the 9v battery plug just go into the filter housing/little circuit board - i assume there is a temp thermostat there as well.

the black oval thing is where the 9v battery goes, the metal clip to hold the battery is to the left

strange i thought?

Did some research its an air pressure switch/alarm to tell you the filter is blocked
