Would love to see Toyota and Nissan enter the fray.

Seeing new manufactures in this sport may rekindle my interest

I love it the way it is ... but if Toyota squeezed in there that would be pretty sweet.

Any new manufacturer would be a very good thing for the series, but would love to see Nissan get in there.

I Agree, it would be awesome. But I think if they did it Holden and Ford havent got a hope in hell of winning.

+1 too other manufacturers getting in there. Not sure if "brand X will smash holden/ford" considering they will have to build there cars too the same specs. Its not like Toyota have dominated Nascar since they have entered, they havent sucked but they havent dominated?

*Disclaimer*the above post was written with consideration too the tech aspect/restrictions of the sport, not southern crossed tattooed ford/holden driving bogan pride :)

Completely agree, but one wopuld assume for example if Mercedes or BMW get in on it ( as they are looking for international prospects ) then the R&D side and the resources they have will be the decider.

Possibly but it wont be like the old Touring car days when the Imports where substancially lighter, had better tech (awd, turbo, lighter, etc) and had international testing/competition behind them. I dont know how much of the R&D budget the big Euros would be prepared to sink into a racing format thats only exposed in 3 countries? (It not like their sales in the middle east need any help?)

Having said that I cant wait for it too happen (if it does!) :D

It will be a championship where all cars have same chassis/engine/suspension/steering/aero components, just with 4 slightly different looking shells as opposed to 2. Still boring & still not going to make it interesting to watch imo.
They need to make a new series, much like the old touring car championships when an array of manufacturers could stick their best model forward. Holden & Ford would do much better in today's racing than they did in the early 90's when pitting VN's against 32GTR's & cossies. Sure the Falcodores will still get beaten, but would be much more entertaining to watch.

Would love to see race spec XR6T running around the field, that would be awesome!

It's all about putting more money in their pockets.

Australia's version of Nascar, change the body panels, put some other manufacturers logo on and cha ching $$$

I rarely watch it anymore, but it will never be the same bogan loving Holden / Ford bashing yobfest.

If the Toyota Camry doesn't have a V8 in it from the factory, do you think that is going to attract more people to watch it, because it's got a Toyota badge? same same for the other companies.

World Time Attack 2010 had an ex V8SC with 800hp XR6T motor. went ok in the field

Id like to see:
Audi S4 (converted to RWD)
BMW M3
Volvo S80 (converted to RWD)
Lexus ISF
Mercedes CL55
to name a few, added to the V8 supercar line up.

The title V8 Supercar only applies to Ford + Holden. That's as much ironic as World Series Baseball - which is only played in USA.

Was pretty uncontrollable power if it's the same one I'm thinking of. As soon as boost came on it was losing traction wasn't it?

XR6T/F6's have been dominating the 24hr Bathurst enduro thingo for the last few years haven't they?

IIRC They were used to running on V8 supercar spec slicks, where as WTAC specified semis.
Different tyre profiles, mucked up all their suspension settings... should be more competitive next year.

As far as Im aware the EX V8SC sedan no longer exists in that form, its been replaced by their (the Fernadez Bro's) FG "Ute"

It should be several manufacturers operating within guidelines, max weights, hp, same tires etc etc. What's the point in another manufacturer in a machine nothing like they produce and identical to the others around them. Booooooooring!!!!!!

You mean like F1? same same isn't it.

Chassis designs, aero dynamics, engines are all different in f1 and forever changing.. guess you're making assumptions without having any knowledge! They are governed by guidelines to operate in, much like I'm suggesting this formula should run to make it interesting

Because V8 Supercar teams could totally afford that. One of the key goals for the COTF upgrade was to reduce costs, not increase them.

Agree euros \ japs \ aussie car all competing to same specs would be very cool.

Loved the days of the E30 M3 \ 32r etc

What's so boring about it?
Plenty of trading paint, races are usually close ( look at Bathurst this year ) and the winner could be pretty much any competitor.
I can't really see what more you could ask for other than an unbiased opinion.

Then just give teams max budgets to operate with.. anyway its just my opinion to make it exciting and offer some differences for manufacturers to be able to exploit and show off whilst possibly doing some rnd for their production cars unlike this which doesn't relate what so ever to products cars

Good point Bartholomnu Id be more inclined to follow the GT championship and watch the internal stuff on speed more than v8s.
