CA18DET seems the logical motor for my conversion into the Gazelle. It also seems to be within budget. But many ppl are advising me an SR20DET will also fit with minor hassles, and is the more power productive motor for the dollar. As cashflow is a major restraint for me, I need the best bang for buck. Should I be saving a little more and just go the SR?

not really true at all. I believe you'd get just as much out of the CA18DET, and as mentioned in ur prev threads, its a bolt in motor. The SR will require much more f*cking around

The two engines are very similar in comparison and if one of them is easier to transplant into your car then choose the ca18det if it will go in easier cause theres always heaps of ****ing around with conversions. Im also planning a conversion in the near future i have gone sr20det but both the sr and ca would fit in with the same amount of effort. In the end youll pay less to get the ca18det in A: because its cheaper B: Easier to put it.

SR would probley be more reliable than a CA but then again it all depends!

not true...sr = fragile...
ca all the way...
CA is the go, but SRs have their advantages too..
For example, if your SR breaks down, you can remove the timing chain and use it to tow the car..
