i think we should put a time limit on this, so it wont go for ages, then we know where it will be and we can organise it, i was thinking 2 weeks
my vote is sst,
Yeah a time limit is good
i must say well done to Simmo to organise all this - ringing all the shops and sorting our deals out.
Another very good point is are the people who are voting intending on bringing cars down ?

i voted hyperdrive cause its closer to most ppl. welshpool is a fair treck for some of us northern dwellers.
money back to club - plz explain ?
They charge $30 - and we get a small amount of that to help fund the site etc Gaz - call it sharing the love :)

u might wanna also state what type of dynos these are for the foke that dont know
hyperdrive is also close of me, but who cares, the dyno calls
Dyno Dynamics dynos all accredited to run shootout mode - its why the list is so small
no disrespect to others but the ppl who wanted this comp insisted on a shootout dyno.
Passage GT
24-02-2004, 08:28 PM
i reckon hyperdrive simply cause it's closer to me (nor) and i havnt' seen it yet
something different
nothing against sst though that'd be my second choice
just bit of a trek

im happy with anywhere aslong as money is goin to the site the rates are low and the dyno is accurate. id like it to be at night tho it will be a bit more comfortable for everyone plus itl meen the cars will make more hp.

Ok peeps, it seems that we have the SST camp and the Hyperdrive camp.
I believe that because Steve and myself frequent these forums it should be between the two of us.
Never seen T+R Greens on here and believe that Danny ( aka Chipmaster ) is mainly Commodore orientated.
My view is that neither of us are going to get rich on these Power run things and it's more a service we offer the clubs. Think about the time, money invested, equipment, manpower and electricity etc to run these days and realise we normally charge closer to $50-70 for a Shootout accredited run then $30 of which 33% goes to the club will barely pay for the above.
Maybe ( and am only thinking aloud here ) we run both the dyno's but will have to speak to Steve ( Tomj , your task for tomorrow ) for the NOR and SOR dudes with maybe a couple doing both just to prove the dyno's are/are not accurate.
Worth a look at but we would need at least 20 people each to make it worth losing a Saturday/Sunday home with the family :)

It's April 27th for the Targa start Mark.
I hope it will be run by then...
Not a bad idea - we run say 24 cars each - send 4 candidates to do 2 runs - one each - they will have to pay 30 once though - it seems like a cool idea - see how well these dynos stack up.
thoughts guys.
I also agree with the fact that Steve and Ken frequent these forums and support us - so a good point and thanks too :)

I think Hyperdrive should do it, I want to watch Ken and Lumpy sweat instead of being ones of those sweating at SST:p
Haha Paul - good to see your alive and well - not seen you post in a while.......
I don't see why we would go to ppl outside of the Jap performance scene, as I can't see how it would benifit anyone to go to anyone besides Ken or Steve. As these are ppl who put back into a community and not just take.
Also don't suppose Hyperdrive's dyno is 4wd ??

Ken, true, but I will be heading over on Friday the 23rd so if its held that w/end I probably won't be there. :)
My main reasoning behind SST was due to fact I am SOR but i'll happily head NOR if need be. 2nd choice T+R was because I know a few other cars that have been dyno'd there so i'd be able to compare(although theoretically can compare any shootout figure).

Ken - we are more then happy for you to do the comp - this other stuff has nothing to do with Antilags collective view about you or Hyperdrive.
Id prefer you two sort this out via pm rather then degrade what will we be an excellent day by what are two excellent workshops
As a result i will be deleting both your posts and allow us to get on with the job of organising this event.
Thankyou both for your respecting this and once again Ken thank you for allowing us the chance to use Hyperdrive for this event. Also thanks to SST for the same privilige.
Thankyou and please do not take this at all personally either of you
Tom.

Im easy.... :boink:
north , south dont care still have to drive 180ks or more to get there
The idea with two dynos is that a few selected cars run on both to show how close they really are.
MrMayhem
26-02-2004, 12:58 AM
Two seperate dynos for this is stooopid they are both dd in shootout all cars on the one dyno
I think in the spirit of trying something new different and fresh Hyperdrive is the go this round. SST are utalised for all SAU and SilWA events (nothing wrong with that either)
Ken how many cars do you think you could do in a day ?
Lord_Muck
26-02-2004, 10:40 AM
I think it needs to be run NOR for those guys who don't/won't/can't go SOR for these events, as most seem to be held SOR ( Myaree for example? )
NOR might bring a few different cars out of the woodwork as well as give the Antilag.com community a good look at Hyperdrive and what they have on offer.
Nothing against SST either but what about alternating NOR, SOR. That gives everyone a fair go.
If your worried about making money, its only simple but have a sausage sizzle and sell cans of cool drink for like $1 (thats profit of like 50c per can) Will give the ladies/gf's/wives something to do too?
There's my few pennies worth.

I believe where ever we are we will try and make the most of it. Including things like sausage sizzle and drinks.
One thing I am really REALLY keen on is setting up a projector to watch the dyno graphs. Its soooooo frustrating having everyone huddled around one 15' screen then hearing the power figures Chinese Whisper

Ok , now I have calmed down ( thanks for deleting those posts Tomj , it was getting ugly).
We can do about 5 cars an hour, depending if there RWD/4WD, FWD.
We have a large parking area which is usually vacant on Saturdays plus there is parking at the dead end street .
We also have a 4 burner gas bbq and am arranging for a cable which will enable extra monitor/projector viewing along with our small reception area having a coke machine and tv/dvd player for watching the drift vids .
Sounds excellent - sunday would be even less cars around too :)

look the way i see it doesnt matter wot hp you make atw a dyno is not gonna be a certain hp under its gonna be a percentage under or over so each car run on that dyno will lose/gain the same mount of percentage...my 2 cents. lol run one a sst and run another at hyperdrive in a couple of months who cares its a bit off fun like i rekon we should do a antilag track day an antilag drag day ect.
like really you might see boggs post a fast lap at a track then gav goes 15 secs slower cuz he is driftin there not gonna bitch bout the times after there gonna say they had heaps of fun thats all.
but thank you both for the oppertunity of using ur dyno equipment ect and your time we appreciate it.
thank you

You asked and answered your own question there Jilted.
Yes SST is an excellent place, thats why everyone goes there. There is also the reason not to go there .... as in try something different ....
It looks like everyone is keen as on SST though. So I'll close of the voting in the next couple of days.
If SST stays in number one, we should aim to have our second dyno day(End of year) at Hyperdrive.

Speaking to TJ today he was suggesting that Hyperdrive would be holding it, and the figures between accredited Shootout dynos should be within less than 1% of each other, meaning that figures at Hyperdrive and SST should be comparable.

29-02-2004, 10:25 PM
well, we have in-house doof-doof and oonce-oonce, so if the party theme is the deal getter then so be it.
We too are in an industrial area. We can operate business whenever we like.
Personally, I dont care if we get the gig or not. We dont need to give up a whole day in an attempt to support a club of people who dont want to be there for some reason or another. We are too busy for crap.
It would be nice though if we could have the opportunity to do this. I dont even know who half of you guys are, so it would be good to be able to put a face to the names finally.
I just hope that people are making the decision for the right reasons.
I'd also like to suggest that the people voting are those running their cars, not their keyboards.

good work hyperdrive for seemingly scoring the dyno shootout.
But why did all the members of the community bother to vote if the votes are to be ignored.
very odd
Only reason it may not be at SST is due to timetabling problems -they may not be able to run it when I want to run it
Ill let you all know very soon.

Without trying to appear rude to anyone, I think the idea of a poll was silly, you need some leadership to make decisions.
I think whoever gets the nod for the dyno comp, we should all lend our full support, as there doing it for Anti-lag, not for any personal gain.
