Finally, after a couple of months, we just received the following e-mail:
Good Afternoon Paul,
I tried giving you a ring earlier, but it did not work for some reason. So I just wanted to give you a quick email to say welcome to CAMS!
Antilag’s Affiliation application was accepted by the State Council at our last meeting.
I will be sending out a New Affiliates Pack shortly which will include your affiliation certificate and some further information.
In the meantime, I will add Antilag to our Club contact list, so that you may be kept updated on CAMS Events and Opportunities.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any issues or queries!
Kind regards,
Good news for all who are a part of ALM!
We are now able to organise a huge range of events. We are registered for a full licence (250+ members) and everything from race/rally to time attack etc etc.
We look forward to bringing you more exciting events in the not-too-distant future!

Maybe cause burnouts have nothing to do with motorsport ?
Well done to the team behind it.

Great work guys! Makes us seem even more legit'!

Is there some information in the works on how members apply for a CAMS licence via ALM?
i.e. a step by step for dummies like me :)

^
1) Join ALM
2) put ALM as your affiliated club on your CAMS Level 2 Speed form (which you get from CAMS, not ALM)
3) send it in via ye olde postal service
4) wonder when your book is going to come back after about 2 weeks because you've got an event coming up
5) receive book back just in time
6) forget to bring it to your first event.

you fill out the usual form, then put Antilag Motorsport as the affilated club

Drag racing must not be a motorsport then! And V8 supercars must not celebrate a motorsport win by throwing hoops everywhere.

To utilise the burnout pad at barbagellos you need to be a CAMS affiliated club
you need a CAMS permit which covers the insurance and all the other little bits
CAMS = Confederation of Australian Motor Sport
im guessing CAMS see it as having a link somewhere to do with motorsport
