Journal bearing turbo oil flow requirements?

Hi all

Have a intermittent burning oil prob.

it appeared probally a year ago where on idle would pump oil burning smoke from exhaust didnt really get a chance to look in to it to deeply and it seemed to have disapeared until powercruise weekend where it started again.

now from some research journal bearings want about 1litre a minute and ball bearings 0.5l per minute? does that sound about right?

Turbo is a Garrett GT4082 im a little suspicious of it having a dicky exhaust housing seal, burnouts probally didnt help either.

Disconnected oil feed this arvo and checked what its flowing on idle, pumped almost a litre in about 15 secs so seems like its pumping way to much. Also disconnected drain at sump to make sure wasnt blocked and drain is flowing well aswell.

Any help, ideas would be appreciated.

steve, 1/8 to 1/4 inch oil supply line,
get a 1" return line ... i had this problem with the EF ... once i upgraded the return drain line, i didnt have the problem again
