if windows 7
go into network and sharing center
manage wireless connections
chose the home network
"remove"
Then reconnect with the right password etc

if above doesn't work ^^
instead of auto connecting to wifi try searching for it and deleting the login history.
are you using the standard windows xp/vista/7 wifi program or some sony stuff?
have you tried turning it off and on again?
and iff possible screen shot the program used and error and post it up here

if you had a usb drive or something that could work. it's not that important but its a big help when people have this kind of problem.
how did you go with the above ideas?
Lonewolf's solution should fix the issue.
It happens when you have previously joined a network which since, has changed password or encryption method.
Windows stores this information and when you try and reconnect, it throws up this error in it's own way of saying "WTF?"
