The time has finally come for my clutch to be replaced on my Evo7. At this stage I was just looking at the organic exedy heavy duty clutch, but was warned away from it as they don't tend to last. The car will not be making over 370hp, what are you guys running in your evo ? :)

I've heard nothing but good things about the Exedy.

I'm still running a carbon twin-plate, but I would avoid at all costs for a daily.

adam and i both run exedy triple carbon. fantastic clutch, but probs over kill for you.

exedy twin would suit. if you can afford it, exedy carbon twin. they drive so good, and launching doesn't kill them cos they love the heat, will rattle a lot tho. also give plenty of extra capacity for more mods later.

nothing worse then buying something, upgrading a turbo say, they having to redo something.

That the exedy HD ? I was speaking with another owner who runs one in his, and said it was pretty darn good for the cost.

I might look into the exedy twin depending on cost of the bloody thing, as I barely drive the car, and even when I do it's never launched. Just some spirited hills runs every so often.

My evo 8 came with a twin plate exedy fitted. I found that very street able.....light but good feel in the pedal and plenty of grip. there was a receipt in the car for 2600 and 1200 for install.

He got gaffed!

Yeah I will be fitting the clutch the myself on a mates hoist. So I don't mind spending a little more to get a good clutch

Exedy/Ralliart Tarmac hybrid. Nice and easy to drive while still giving the bite needed.

Decided to go with the HD exedy, got a decent quote today, was going to do it myself, but it isn't that much more to just have it done in a shop :)

I had mine done at Tokyo Motorsports, very fast service and highly recommended.
Was ~$1950 fully done including all consumables, rear main seal, etc.

Clutch is great. (Exedy HD)
Bites like nothing.

Thats who I spoke with today, I spoke with Shannon whom was very helpful untill I asked technical questions and then I spoke with a bloke whom was also very helpful, it was great talking to people with an excellent phone manner and whom knew what they were on about for a change in this industry. Car will no doubt end up going there :)

Yeah, just be careful when you drive it out. I stalled mine straight out of the carpark, hah!

Was MUCH heavier than the old goose.

Supply price on the Exedy HD is $780 - $900 depending on supplier. Tokyo quote $895 for the kit on their site.

Rest was install.. having already changed the clutch on this car once, it's a bitch, in my books, it was worth every penny to the poor sucker that did it :P

I think you will find Southwest Brakes VERY competitive in comparison!

I bought my Exedy Single Organic & Brand new Flywheel for about $680 delivered when the US dollar was good.

Installation was done by Josh @ GalvSport and had no dramas so far. Ended up being approx 1.2k fitted with new box oil.
