Before anybody else? - 4:40-5am.
Feel like sitting around for a while? - 6am.
I'd go in the night, park the car at the front of the line and sleep there if I didn't want to wait at all.

I got there at 7am and waited till 9, by the time I left the line was outside onto the road. Welshpool has been known to be pretty harsh lately, were a little bit picky with a few things on my car. The inspector was nice enough to give me 28 days to fix the shit up, didn't loose my shit at him or anything. I'm going to Osbourne park today, should get through....

Been to Warwick a couple times and couldn't complain - very quick, the guys there I have dealt with are awesome and each time walked away within 15-20min all sorted.
Haven't been to Welshpool but have only been hearing there and Osborne Park have been a little tougher.
The inspectors get moved around from joint to joint though?

Avoid Kelmscott the old angry guys from O'Connor have moved there now. Osbourne Park is a different type of pits, you sit in a waiting room shitting yourself whether or not they will find things on the car. Welshpool I have been told is strict as all fuck now so good luck with that.
I am booked into Warwick next week. Apparently it is my last chance for the inspections so I want to go to the alleged best pits. After that, they are not extending my yellows anymore. Each one I have been given 13 days.

All that for the copper just telling him his suspension was too stiff. Tough break.

then stop going to the pits, try a licensed workshop.

Most of that list seemed like pretty rudimentary stuff!
90% seemed to be for unsecured shit!

not sure that the workshops can issue extensions, think they are for inspection only

Yeah, most of them are all just quick 5-10 minute fixes.
Seatbelt retracting/Roof lining/Control arm bushes/Tailshaft coupling are really the only issues.

I have had mix reviews about workshops, thus I continue going to pits.

since the o'connor pits is closing, there is a handful of licenced workshops around the myaree / o'connor area.
could be worth trying there

A friend of mine in an absolute shit heap of a 32 went to the one in Toodyay and passed first time, really regret not making the treck to go there in the first place. +1 to that being a pretty big list, not sure if "5-10 minutes" is a very accurate prediction =\

I meant 5-10 minutes to "secure" each thing on the list, not 5-10 minutes to do all of it...

Pipe down, was just having a laugh at your time frames initially, not you in general.

Could 'secure' those items in 5-10 mins if the pits accept metal zip ties and you replaced all the plastic ones

i looked on the dpi list and saw i could goto one in rockingham. even got an appointment within 24hours! yeah list isnt bad just some securing only thing i need to do really is LCA bushes. prob get some ikeya LCA anyway. also lols for secure pod filter as the first one. licensed workshop ftw (they gave me a 14day extension). i took my a pillar covers down the other day because i cbf with them ( were falling down all the time) is it REALLY illegal not to have them?

the old bloke @ O'Connor was awesome when we went there. got over pits with welded diff, holley, and it scraped on their 75mm things they got on the side of pits and he still removed the sticker! was very happy. we had to take car back twice for little stuff. had to replace front bushes and weld a crack in exhaust but other than that. was all good.

how many times can you get yellow extended nowadays?
Clean engine bay, make sure it has no road dirt on it, same for diff shafts etc.
They will do all the normal checks, plus ride height, exhaust sound.
Recommendation on an inspection centre that is easy going and doesn't hate on imports?
Depending on if you like pits or not, I used 'Pebco' in o'conner. Mainly as that's around where I live, they were good and allowed me to go fix things and come back on the same day for a re-inspection free of charge. So go in the morning first thing so you have this option.
When I took mine over I got pinned for height and that was about it, the main height failing was the v-spec diffuser at the back.
Be aware that it hangs quite low so just jack the car right up 4wd spec for when you go over.
Other then that, as TJ notes get it as clean as you can. If you fail, no issue get the list... fix it and roll over.

Check and make sure Welshpool doesn't need bookings as they had a sign up there a few weeks back about how they were changing to a bookings only centre soon.

Yep. Also, make sure you know where it is. The RB30s in VLs have 2 numbers stamped on them, one from Nissan and one from Holden I think. Bloke I had couldn't find the Holden number that matched my paper work, only the Nissan number, had to show him where it was myself.
It's also best you bring the nsw/vic rego papers with you. Speeds the whole process up x1000000.

Just tell them you'll give them a few hundred bucks if they pass it. They can't be on much more than $800 a week take home. Niggas will think your makin' it raiiiiiiin.
Whats the go if you fail at one pits and go to another, can they look up what you failed on at the previous place? do you have to show any documentation from the original epic fail?
