Police apprehend an offender in Japan

Watch from about 4mins onwards. basically the story goes...

The cops see the GTR parked up looking rather suspicious. They run a plate check and discover that the vehicle is stolen. They also spotted the driver asleep in the vehicle. He is identified as a wanted criminal and considered dangerous.

The Force then go about this very odd way of catching their bandit by way of surprise!

The result is unfortunate for both the crim and his stolen vehicle :)

I kept thinking they have the window down, why not just reach in and take the keys out? At most the turbo timer would let him run a muck for a minute or two but he couldn't steer.
Then again by the amount of effort he was putting into getting away with the car trapped and cops surrounding him I'd say they went the right way about it.
