Driving Standards

You will inevitably be punted during the evening (from accidents or lag) but 'revenge' punts just breed more shit driving.
Keep it clean. Even if you think you've been hard done by. Keep it clean.

> Give each other racing room. No other pushing or ramming other cars off the tarmac.
> If you accidentally push or hit a competitor off the track, slow and let them re-pass you to address the situation (apologising via your headset will also help).
> If you deliberately push or hit a competitor off the track, you won't be invited back[/SIZE].

For how to join and connection troubleshooting CLICK HERE (http://www.antilag.com/forums/showpost.php?p=818220&postcount=2).

See you all Thursday.

With the Civic, would there be any performance difference between one with the Race Mod to one without?

Has anybody tried the latest seasonal special race? Merc SLS, Top Gear Test track, comfort soft tyres.

Brutal.

Just be aware "qualifying" doesnt work too well as far as race grid positions go - in the OCAU championships we've had to resort to getting everyones fastest times, starting a 1 lap "race" and making everyone finish in reverse order so that the resulting proper race will have everyone in the right spots on the grid

If you just start the race after a qualifying period you will find pole goes to the person who has either been on teh server longest or has done the most laps (or some other random reason)

Also once you have set a decent time you have to park your car on the track, you cant go back to the pits to change anything as you will lose your position...

TBH with the number of lead changes we have in races grid position doesnt seem to count for much, more trouble than its worth...

But the Civic races would likely be run without boost if we're doing this properly? If no boost is the case then quail is more important.
But I agree with you otherwise.

Are you sure? I know that there's a bug which resets your lap on the leaderboard if you leave the track and go back to the lobby, but the system does seem to recall your fastest lap when doing the final sorting for the race.

Eg if you set the fastest lap (say a 1:20.000) you will be shown at the top of the leaderboard on the right of the screen. If you then go back to the lobby and return to the track your time seems to be reset. Then say you do a 1:21.976 and are now shown as eigth on the leaderboard you will still start on pole provided nobody laps quicker than 1:20.000.

Or at least that's how it seems to work in my experience.

First race has no boost so qualifiying will definately help.
Only the other three races are reversed grid with low boost.

New from dealer

All the 'car of the week' vehicles will be from the new (premium) car dealership so everybody has easy access to them.

Make sure you apply the race mod to the Civic first. Go to "GT Auto" from the main menu and select 'race modifications'.

Built my Civic a couple of nights ago, haven't actually driven it yet, time to go test... I also built something that can hopefully give Alex a run for his money at Monaco ;)

I have to give up on the low weight/high downforce.

Get the lead, pull away, get to first straight loose the lead and then block block block untill the next person cathes me. Whoever that was in the massive 4wd at trial mountain that was fucking hilarious, massive offs and just keep the boot in and it would come back

Civic racing was good! Interesting to see the different strategies people take. I noticed at Fuji that some people were super quick but would run out of top end and get eaten later.

Ive never really played with LSD or suspension settings so I am sure there is tons of time to be found.

Adam - these were real type R's

Ok suckers... Got a PS3 last weekend and slowly making my way through it!

Will hopefully have enough cash in the next few weeks to start buying decent cars and then game on :)

Good racing, the civic races were good, I couldn't get mine to handle quite how I'd like though, was trying heaps of different settings to try give it some lift-off oversteer and better turn-in, but nothing really worked. Was quick at London, but just messed up too much in the lead with the lack of grip.

S_E what's your PSN name? Sorry, don't know!

JZX100Stu, the car I built was the Evo IV, didn't go all that well, although trial mountain is always a struggle with the sports soft tyres, being so bumpy and all. So many diff/AYC settings to mess around with...I think I might just stick to that IS200

Good racing tonight, especially the M3 race on the Nurburgring GP circuit.

Great race, really annoyed I dropped it coming onto the straight before the last chicane, but I wasn't going to win anyway, you pretty much have to have a good run all the way from the bottom hairpin up to there, lost too much time going for the lead and had a bad exit. Good clean race though.

Had some enjoyable racing last night.

Good variety of cars in the 500pp race made it interesting.

Although crashing through the finish line seemed to be a common theme last night with some funny results.

I jumped on just in time for the last Civic race and didn't have time to adjust my top speed - I think I had an excess of about 40km/h. :/

And duste out of fucking nowhere to nearly take the win! 0.090s too slow. :(

That was the first time I'd raced that Mazda 6 - fair bit of potential given what I was racing with was a very, very quick tune.

Haha that Zed was pretty damn good considering I had won it earlier, added a manifold and filter, and gearbox to change the ratios. Hadnt even done a lap before the race
