Driving Standards

Some drivers are obviously faster than others but we're all racing for fun so boost is turned on to keep the pack together. You will inevitably be punted during the evening (from accidents or lag) but 'revenge' punts just breed more shit driving.
Keep it clean. Even if you think you've been hard done by. Keep it clean.

> Give each other racing room. No other pushing or ramming other cars off the tarmac.
> If you accidentally push or hit a competitor off the track, slow and let them re-pass you to address the situation (apologising via your headset will also help).
> If you deliberately push or hit a competitor off the track, you won't be invited back.

See you all tomorrow.

Next week I want to run some races with one make/model of car from the Premium Dealership. Everybody must run the same car and tuning will be unlimited.

I envisage approximately 4 races at different tracks. (TBA)

I've added a poll at the top of the thread with three options to vote on.

In for a bit tonight, and voted Civic.

Awesome idea tbh, voted for Civic also. When will you 'close' the poll so we can start tuning that specific car?

Might partake in some back of the pack slip n slide..

I didn't put an end date on this poll but for future polls will end on Saturday 12:00am (or late Friday night). This gives anybody who visits these threads the day before or after a chance to vote.

After more consideration I'll have to cap PP points depending on the car. Basically the PP limit will be the rating of a brand new car with all performace mods and weight reduction mods applied. This will prevent PP creep from those who have the time during the week to run-in engines. Increasing the default downforce will also cause a PP increase so you'll have to reduce power or increase ballast to keep under the default PP cap.

That 155 Alfa was such an awesome looking car - what do you win it from? Or do you have to buy it?

That Cizeta was a tyre-eating bitch.... fair bit of grunt though

Renautsport V6 is a great car for the PP once you get used to the handling

767 Stealth kinda sucks a bit when you have to limit the power on it so much to keep under 650

Hoping we can try differnt PP levels next week as i think a few of us really struggle with some of the current ones!

That Chapparel is.. "interesting", i did a whole historic championship online with it... trying to get gear ratios sorted when you only have 3 gears is fun.... apparently in real life it was an automatic too!

I got mine from the online store. Wasnt too cheap, but I love it, I got knocked off the road 3 times @ laguna and still got to 2nd, its got some good pace in it.

One thing I have learnt is that you have to run it soft - it understeers very badly if you stiffen it too much.

Good racing again last night, really not too many incidents that I saw.

Pity my mic was so intermittent. Apart from that had a ball, will be on next week.

Probably some of the best racing last night I have had in a while, just couldn't get my shit together for the 450pp races (need to find some new cars)

I had mic problems as well. Seems that when there is 9 or more people in the room, my mic stops working but the ear piece still does. It has done that a few times now.

Yeah racing was good. A good bit of rubbing, but nothing that put people in the walls. I stopped both times I affected someone badly.

And yeah 450 is a hard number to find a car for!

Build a car TJ! Some of the online events pay big money and don't take too long so no excuse not having some funds for it (i remember hearing you say you hadn't done much of GT mode, hence no ca$h for car builds). I think I need to do a bit of building myself actually...

For the few that were left last night talking about the Red Bull X2010/X1, I sent it round the 'Ring in 3:37 in Time Trial mode (so it's official; i didn't go off the track or anything or the time wouldn't have counted). Full custom set-up (racing softs etc).
I can send the Ferrari F2007 around it in 4:47, full custom set-up. Would like any owners of either of those cars to have a crack at those times as I think they're pretty good and would like to see where I stand against you.

PS: O'doyle rules

Alex, I got 10 mill credits, money not an issue. Built it up while sick in bed 3 weeks ago. The issue is time - the only time I play is thurs nights with you guys.

Car of the week for 8th September will be the Honda Civic Type R (EK) '97 capped at 540pp.

This car happens to be one of the few in GT5 that can be 'Race Modifed'. Do this first as it will kit the car out with a bunch of gear (like race suspension, transmission etc) without having to buy it from the tuning section.

I'll start a new thread soon with more details including track selection. As a starting point, first race will be Tsukuba.

Ah bugger. Modded it already, didn't even bother to check for race mods!

duste

x2, bought a fresh one from Dealership for $20k, baller.

The car handles very nicely with no "special" tuning once all mods have been applied, going to be a few very close races I think.

It handles pretty good and good, best i could get at tsukuba when i fucked around a little was 56.8

A little more tweaking i have done a 55.8 can fine tune some more out of it i think

Just how much of a gain do you get out of the LSD settings? I've not played with them for any car, mainly because I don't know wtf I'm doing..

Good racing last week, epic race with Alex at Monaco.

Are we using sports or racing tyres for this?
