Hey all,

Been on the forums for a while but have been keeping a low profile. Thought I would post up my new project car mainly as a method to try and keep my motivation up but also get some ideas and input from others who have been through the process.

So I grabbed this r32 gtst a week ago from another member on the forums. Its mostly complete bar the motor and gearbox and a few other bits and pieces. It came with an r34 style bodykit which probably isnt for everyone and could be classified as a poors mans r34 but personally I like the look of it and have always wanted to do a project car so meh.

Current goals for the car are:

Finish fitting the bodykit
Give the car a respray - unsure of colour yet but thinking black and red
reassemble the interior and buy missing bits and pieces
buy an rb25 halfcut and install motor and gearbox
get registered and drive around stock until funds permit

Anyway heres the pics and if you have any ideas or input feel free to let me know

The only constructive comment I have is that it will cost you less to buy a R34.

Good luck!

Are you planning on sourcing a wreck for all your missing bits and pieces? All the best with the build though!

If I can afford it id like to get some black te37s but doubtful I will so hopefully something similar though.

Most of the parts actually came with it but theyve just been stripped out and are sitting in a big pile at the moment. Will need to source some front and rear seats though. Not looking forward to putting it back together either as its a giant jigsaw puzzle at the moment and I'm sure theres gonna be plenty of bolts missing.

Best tip is pull all that bog out and start fresh. Should be a good project at least.

However your problem is, is that this is pics of the same car with 32 front...looks A LOT better imo...

agreed. pull the bog off, especially seeing its been sitting out in the weather, it will have absorbed moisture and could cause rust down the track if the body hasn't been prepped properly

Looks like you have alot of work. good luck! Will be good if executed correctly

Rotas = < $1500 with tyres.

I'm actually reckon that example that was posted above of the R32/4 looks good. Keen to see how yours pans out. :)

Shotgun Tezuka's Bee-R R324 was hot in 2006 when I saw it in Japan and California. About the only thing to show hotness like this recently from an OEM transplant has been the R35 GTR front on the M35 Stagea.

Agreed! That guy unfortunately loves that shit :(

If you like TE37's but want somethign diff to the rotors. I recommend Varsteonn rims. Dead ringer for them, and in huge sizing can be had for 1400.

is your head lights different from each other? The one on the drivers side looks like the Xenon type and the passenger type looks Non Xenon??

Interesting choice, good luck with it but it does look quite beat up, it will cost some dollars to make it look good.

Pretty sure it has been in a garage the whole time but im still going to rip it out and start fresh. Anyone able to tell me the best way to remove it from the fibreglass or only worth worrying about the shell?

Each to their own I guess :)

Did a bit of a search for them and must say that they do look good will probably end up with a set when the time comes.

Yeah they are good call. The Xenon has the mounting tabs broken off and also has a bit of a hole in it. If I can source another xenon cheap enough might try and repair it with the plastic welder i bought ages ago.

Ok slight update sorry bout the lighting in some of the pics.

Pulled out most of the crap in the engine bay ready for a degrease and prepping
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/jambugie/IMG_0823.jpg

Removed rear fibreglass fender which was riveted on and found a bit of damage underneath. Probably all that necessary to fix as it wont be seen but I decided to for piece of mind.

http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/jambugie/IMG_0838.jpg

Removed rear quarter glass (without breaking it) :) in preparation for fibre glassing

Its certainly got some fucking history!

Bombed to see bulk progress on this. But yes, a 34 will be an imperial shitload cheaper - definitely not as interesting though..

yes it has been welded before, from the factory :) thats where the roof skin is welded over the top of the quarter panel, you will find more bronze lines on the A pillar and a Dag on the b pillar.

I hope you prove everyone wrong and build a sweet ride mate .... good work .... you have heaps of work ahead of you but I reckon you will get it done. Don't forget to install the heater as I noticed it is missing and you will need it for the pits and licensing and those cold perth mornings.

After being sick, injured and severly lacking motorvation for a fair chunk of time, I've finally started working on this thing again.

One of the reasons Ive been lacking motorvation is cause the bodykit doesnt seem to line up all that well not sure how its going to turn out but guess ill come to it when the time comes.

Rear bar placed somewhat central...at least the other side isnt too bad.

http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/jambugie/SDC15163.jpg

Started cutting out more of the body and bashing up the wheel well

http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/jambugie/SDC15166.jpg

Mocking up the wheel well extension to the fender.

http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/jambugie/SDC15165.jpg

Hopefully more to come soon.
