Antilag's legal advice team!!

i know people on here have put up requests for reccomendations for lawyers etc, mainly for traffic things etc and people were able to reccomend someone.
Looking for a good lawyer/firm to go for, for another issue im having with a company. Mainly just want them to send a a proper law firm/lawyer letterhead off to these people to start with to hopefully scare them into giving me the money they owe me. Legal action is a last resort.

To keep it short/in key form:
- booked an apartment in America in feb for my holiday in july in Miami, paid in full up front
- Less then 24hrs before we are due to fly from NYC to Miami are emailed and told they cannot supply apartment booked anymore due to legal dispute with building owners
- Told they can offer alternative accom but it is very dodgy! they also offer us the choice of a full refund instead if we choose, we chose a full refund
- Told it must be refunded onto credit card paid on but i tell them that card has been cancelled due to being skimmed. Say only other option to refund is via paypal
- Send paypal info, get email back 2 days later saying refund will be issued in 30 days, has now been alot longer then 30 days
- i have sent them several emails since and called them with no response, when i called the customer service lady said she has fwded the info to the booking department, still no reply as yet.
- We also booked an Apartment and stayed with them in LA had no problems then and the apartment was fine.

I really cbf calling them again as it costs a fortune to call their office in LA. and emailing i dont seem to get a response. At first they would reply instantly when informing me of the issue in miami and how they can refund my money.
So pretty much all im asking if anyone can reccomend a good law firm/lawyer who specialises in this sort of thing or someone they have used before who were good. ive never needed to use a lawyer before aside from jeremy noble once for a traffic offence so got no idea who would be good for this sorta thing.

cheers guys

Pretty sure you can get the credit card company to chargeback the merchant due to not receiving goods/services you paid for. Even if the card has been cancelled surely the bank can pass on the money to you.

What rgv said.

TBH they wont give a fuck what an aussie lawyer letter tells them to do seeing as it is classed as a small claim

hmm i dont think i can do a charge back because the amount was charge back in febuary?

can i still do this even if this was done back so long ago? coz with lodging a dispute form with my credit card company you cant lodge it later then 60 days after the statement date.

Shine Lawyers - The bulldogs of the legal industry. They won't back down from a fight.

Plus, Erin Brokovich looks like a bulldog chewing on a wasp's nest so win/win

Hi just contact the bank your credit card was with, and they will refund the money, as the tpa states that if you have not received good/services which have been charged on a credit cars they must refund the money

i spoke to the credit card company, nothing they can do. 45 days to launch a dispute so its well past then. Nothing else they can do they tell me but advise me to just keep chasing the company up.

so advice anyone??
