Phone nerds, Ifail 3gs battery swap issue

Bought a new battery for my iFail 3gs, swapped it over, phone powers up and runs ok, but when i go to charge it, it doesn't charge, phone says its connected to the charger, but batt % doesn't go up..

swap back to the old battery and it accepts charge fine, checked all the voltages on the new battery and they match the old one, is there some trick im missing?..

Genuine battery or eBay special?

Should have bought an Android-powered phone.

from one of the shops in carosel that flogs them off, same battery, same part numbers and everything..

One of the little stands in the middle? Wouldn't be surprised if they're China specials.

With some of the eBay Canon batteries, they're known to not be recognised by the camera as the camera can tell whether they're OEM or not. I dare say a similar issue is happening with your iPhone battery; more than likely the battery is actually charging, it's just the phone can't "read" the battery %.

Well the legitimate product is also made in China funnily enough, I'd be worried if it was built anywhere other than China..

There's a difference between the """""quality""""" products that come out of China and the non-genuine rip-offs.
