Car Accident Help Needed

Yesterday an old man rear-ended my brand new Fiat 500. This car's my baby, so I'm devastated. The problem is, he refused to give me his contact details!

I only got his name and his plate number, and my insurance won't do a no-fault claim without his address. Does anyone know how I can find that out? It's a common name, so yellow pages etc are useless, the police have told me they won't help, and I'm at a loss!

Punch his Rego details into the online crash report and it will suss it out then give the report number to ur insurer, who u insured with? They sound like cockheads? Didnt have that trouble with AAMI and just car

Same thing happened to me last night..

Cocksmoker in a BMW E60 5 series reversed into the Audi A6 I'm currently car-sitting for a family member, took off without leaving his details and verbally abused the witnesses on the way through. It cracked the bumper, and if it was my bunky Impreza I wouldn't care, but we're talking an Audi A6... new bumper is probably going to run several thousands of dollars.


Registration 1BON 908. Vehicle is a silver BMW 5 series E60 according to CrashReport.com.au and the piece of bumper he left behind (2005-2010 model). Incident happened at the underground car park at 15 Labouchere Road South Perth (corner of Mill Point Rd).

I'll be completing the crash report today, and lodging with insurance, but I'd love to find out the owner so I can pay them a friendly visit with an invoice for the damage.. it would mean I don't have to make an insurance claim.

Smashed details up here on AL, thirty minutes later had a message with an address. Guy got served.

Corner Parry St and Beach St in Fremantle, the other car was a white Mitsubishi sedan with a massive red Mitsubishi sticker on the bonnet. Should I give his name (it might be a fake name, I guess)?

Did the crash report tell you what model Mitso it was? Lancer, Magna, etc?
White Mitso with a big sticker on the bonnet should be easyish to spot.

Was there more than $3000 worth of damage? Cops won't really care about it if not, but aside from waiting to see if someone can dig up details, you'll just have to wait for them to do the bureaucracy surrounding your crash report and see what they return with.

1. It is illegal not to give details - he will get reamed hard when he gets caught
2. Your insurance sounds weird
3. Glad you made a police report.
4. AL detectives will have this sorted in no time.

My insurances is SGIO. They seems to be buttholes.

Most insurance companies deem an accident at fault or penalty claim if full Third party details are not disclosed-for what ever reason. I think they can request details from the police but it takes ages! Better if you can track details down.
Always make sure if you do have a accident actually sight the other drivers licence too some people have been known to give flase names & addresses. D/L number is ideal !

i got rear ended in my mums exploder when i was 17 guy lost control of his dads skyline slid his left hand side into the left hand rear of my car then he hit the limiter and when i herd that i knew he was getting the fuck out of there. He took off i went to do a u turn and as i lined up to go after him i seen two of my mates who were behind him and they told me to stop. they had seen it all and got his rego and a pic of his car crushed up against me so i called the cops they told me to go to a police station make a report and the guy at cannington asked if i was sure i didnt cause the damage so after my old man blew a gasket at the guy showed him the pics made the report. mum rang sgio and monday morning they sent someone around he looked at it said take it to this panel beater and he will fix it then tracked him down with the info the police gave us

Only photos I have. I know it doesn't look like much, but it was a VERY loud collision and looking up close it is clear that the bumper was pushed in and then popped back out again - so there is probably internal damage. Anyway, it's my brand new baby so even those scratches and dents are devastating - and I shouldn't have to pay for it out of my own pocket (don't you love it when insurance companies charge an age excesses?) AND lose my no claim bonus.

Added: the last pic is just of my car, as requested. Those are the dealer plates though.

Also, that shouldn't be expensive to fix luckily. The memory foam behind the bumper looks like it's popped back out fine.
Just keep on your insurance company about it, and let them know that you are going to push for the other guys details through the police reporting process. It will take longer but means you won't be up for the excess.

Call cops, report ASAP as a hit and run. The guy will get raped.
Insurance will the be able to act as they will have someone at fault.

Exactly what I've done.. insurance said get a quote for new bumper and headlight, should be quite pricey direct from Audi parts (and using an expensive panel shop), put the claim through, put the crash report through and the other guy should get reamed for hit and run.

looks like minor damage, however he has committed a crime by denying to provide details, so should be easily sorted with the police over a long and drawn out process.
