I'm finally pulling my finger out and doing a showcase thread for anyone that's interested in some old school.

Details:
1976 Lx SLR Torana bought bog stock, right down to the original rusted twin exhaust! When I picked up this car she was regoed and had just come over from Melbourne with everything working great including the radio. So far there haven't been any major rust issues that I can pick up but she hasn't been blasted yet. The only real areas of concern are the bottom of the doors and the rear hand left door, which is all easy to fix and replace.

What I have done so far:
I have changed to an Edelbrock performer manifold with a rochester quaddie and new air filter. The diff ratio is also a 3.08 over the old 2.75 and have just purchased the front spoiler and rear bobtail.

Plans:
Being a broke uni student means one thing at a time ): But at last I finally have enough cash for the car to have a complete bare metal respray including the inside, underside and engine bay. It is going to be sprayed in 2pak the original aquarius however with blackouts and the new kit! While the spray is happening I have two options either freshen up the 253 for now including a rebuild with cams and lifters or I could go straight to a 308 or 350. (If i go the 350 at least the number plate fits :p) Also while she's being put back together there will be a new exhaust with extractors and a new alloy radiator with thermofans.
Then when I can get my hands on some more cash the interior will be re trimmed along with a new sound system (all hidden)
Cheers guys

Looks great man, will look awesome when its finished.

That rear spoiler is gonna need a lot of trimming? Or is it just not sitting on there properly?

Also, is your gran (or mum) picking or scratching in the second last photo? :)

Ahh it kills me when I see Torrie threads. Miss mine badly.
She looks like a very mint rig mate. Keep it with the Holden blocks IMHO.

Nice project mate. Don't bother playing around with the 253, go straight for a 308 or 350. Keep it carby too :)

Hahaha that's my babcia, good thing about working on the car there is for one a huge garage but also food every 5 minutes. So she's probably picking something out of her teeth :D The spoilers aren't on properly yet I'm just waiting on getting her blasted first.

Cheers for all the good feedback guys.
