Info on turbo upgrade

Hey all,

I'm just after some different figures etc. of 2 turbos I'm thinking of upgrading to..such as power figures, price, etc...

The turbos are GT2871, and HKS GT-RS

They are both to suit my sr20 180

We have had experience with both these units.

There is a particular GT25 family unit that we are testing atm on one of our tech's cars. It replaced his old T28 GTiR unit. Makes boost identically, yet picked up 29hp peak, with other gains through the range.


turbo choice ultimately is based on the intended application and ability of the car. It needs to be matched correctly in order to function at it's best.

The case in question is a stock-as 13 year old red top sr, but has mild cams, 35mm ITS ext gate on modified stock manifold, greddy plenum, 550cc inj, z afm and one of my tunes. it makes 323.3hp on 13psi. In a 1000kg 910 bluebird, it's pretty damn fast!

It just got some 850cc inj in it last week, so will see what we can drag out of it with some more boost and tuning.
