How was car parking last year for entrants? Is there still no where decent to park your car?

Yakky Bear

might enter the boat.

powercruise isnt a group event. its everyone for themselves.

I know this, but some clubs have done group entries in the past. When I went with SilWA to the first one, we submitted our payments and forms to the club, and then they submitted it all to the event organisers.

Daisy
11-07-2011, 03:15 PM
oh righto, not sure what the advantage of that would be.

Skitzo
11-07-2011, 03:18 PM
It's easier for the slack pingpingpingping haha. For the first event, they looked at designated areas for clubs, so it aided in knowing what areas they could designate for each club. Clubs rocked up, and grabbed any spot they wanted/could anyway, rendering it pointless.

All the damn car ports were sold out like a month ago, fuck parking in the normal bays on the grass its a pingpingpingping if you get stuck up the top bit and have to wait for everyone to move out of the way, and lining up for the track for like 30 mins is very fucking gay. Almost contemplating not entering this year purely cos of that :(

Daisy
11-07-2011, 03:58 PM
^same, sounds snobbish but its 20times the event when you have a carport.

XF Falcon
11-07-2011, 04:11 PM
Exactly man. I don't even remember getting an email to say that car port registration was open, and I've already entered at 2 powercruise's so far. They spam your email with everything else yet neglect this pretty important bit of information.

If they did mention this in an email then I'll take that back, but I usually check them all...

I know quite a few people not entering because of the carport issue. I wonder if big workshops have bought all the carports..?

I'll be there with Rat and the rest of the turbo e-series falcon crew. Keen to smash the drifting again and looking forward to fucking around during the cruise sessions. Anyone here not entered and keen for a ride just come say hi. (i owe u a ride mike!)

One of the best weekends of the year! YEW!

Not bothered about carports just there for the cruising session and getting my doors blown away by twice as powerful cars :)

Also devo at no carport, I was hanging out for one.

not sure if I'll enter at the moment, I don't particularly care where I park but the queuing gets old when you see carport guys jumping in whenever they like

fuck all you bastards who got car ports and didn't tell anyone else the entry was open

just kidding, but seriously I'm pretty devo about the whole situation.

I'll probably just enter anyway and just be pissed off all weekend about it and just take my aggression out on my tyres, will be fun still.

Can't be referring to me, I advertised it on Facebook twice. Simon and I have adjoining carports, he's taking the XR8 down on 345/30/19 street tyres :-)

Last year, I believe some cars on a trailer were stickered regardless.

I heard there was a roadblock too. Went for a scout in a mates car before I left - nothing. That was right at the end of the Sunday though.

I went all 4 days & only spotted one police car and that was it...

Aslong you dont cain round that general vicinity should'nt give you any grief.

or just where the drift cars normally park "undercover" so to speak..

roller door ports are for fancy people who leave there race cars at warners, or have way to much money. If you get a car port it will just be one of the undercover bays.

Last year, I believe some cars on a trailer were stickered regardless.

I heard there was a roadblock too. Went for a scout in a mates car before I left - nothing. That was right at the end of the Sunday though.

Did not see a cop round warners, i drove my car there friday and home sunday arvo, even went on food runs at night as we camped, no cop hastle.

In theroy if your not seen driving on the road and you dont have plates on the car on a traler then they wont give you a sticker as it would just apear to be like any other unregesterd car on a traler. Id say you would have to really piss them off to have them sticker your car on a traler.....

Its a great event and craploads of fun, id recomend people enter! sadly i wont be as ill be party thro my v6 conversion, but ill def be there 2012.

Turbo2.6L
13-07-2011, 08:16 AM
They need your car on the road to sticker it i believe, so anyone stupid enough to unload it from the trailer on the side of the road deserves a sticker.

adrenalin
13-07-2011, 10:37 AM
Easier to get a tow truck to pick it up sun morn as to not risk the yellow sticker.

And yea i plan on pulling off wa plates and putting on fakies when i get into wanneroo

Breno
13-07-2011, 11:54 AM
not even sure they can yellow a car with plates on if it's not being driven on a road... if it's on the track it shouldn't be a problem.

- just saying this coz we left a car at the track after a drift comp and the coppers were hiring the track the next day... it was parked right where they wanted to be and apparently they threatened to sticker it, but couldn't until it was observed driving on a public road? we lol'd, waited til they were all out on the track failing at driving, then bailed.
