Ok this is starting to shit me, and near on kill me.
Start car up in morning and its fine, crank heater up, all good. Go to ATM and leave car running, get back in and heater is cranking out fuel fumes, does the same if I'm at the drive through coffee thing and extended periods of car idling.
Can't find any leaks in engine bay, all hoses and clamps seem good, can't see any leaking marks around injectors or anywhere in fact.
I figure it's coming from engine bay, when I'm driving its getting fresh air, but when idling its sucking air direct from around engine bay, only guess is the charcoal cannister is fucked or something.
Maybe when it's warmed up and idling I should pop bonnet and look again.
Car is VR Commodore with V6, anyone else suffered this, seriously I'm gonna die in this car.

Remind me to kick you in the throat next time I see you :)
not driving a rotary are we? standard smell!!!
maybe not so much a leak just something seaping enough to start vapourising with heat? and be caught up in the airflow?
leaky fuel tank ect from the rear?? escaping into the cabbin?
silly question, but is there fuel or any sort of combustion getting into the coolant?
As in, a munted headgasket??
Drive through coffee? There's your problem.
The car is protesting that you're drinking shit coffee.

Fuel tank fittings/hoses are all new Jared, did them not long ago
Andy I dont think so, car never gets hot, hasnt got any telltale signs either.
Joe unless you wanna deliver coffee before 7am then Muzz Buzz is what Im stuck with, which is miles ahead of Maccas pre mix blend 43.
Im gonna wait till I get to work tomorrow and brush over any fittings under bonnet with soapy water while its warm and running with heater on.
charcol canister not plumbed up correctly, is my guess.

charcol canister not plumbed up correctly, is my guess.
Theres 2 small hoses of different sizes, cant really fuck it up.
Tristan, married that chick that looks like your ex yet?
try a different canister or trace the hoses to check they actually go where they should and are not blocked.
fuel pump access cover could be worth checking as well as the vent line from the tank to the canister
Don't these have vacuum actuated controls for the vents/heater etc? maybe split a hose somewhere up in the dash.

Yeah might find where they go and d/c them and jam some compressed air down them to check they aren't blocked.
Also will do same to cannister.

it will have a small vac hose going through the firewall between the heater hoses, just disconnect it for a few days at the manifold end, plug up the vac line and see what happens, also grab some pliers and squeeze the return fuel line while idling and watch out for fuel leaks at the joins on the rail and metal lines at the firewall, common as tits

also on strange occasions a leaking air cond system can resemble a fuel smell.

Finally did it again this morning at ATM while idling away, had torch with me, ended up being the fuel pressure reg where it goes into rail, was on way to work anyway, ripped it off, the Viton O ring looked worn, out of 20,000 O rings at work we had nothing that size, so some Loctite 515 had to do, seems to be ok for now, but will order a big pile of similar sized O rings for "work" monday :)
