View Full Version : Antilag GT5 Online Racing (Thursday 30th June)
***********
Driving standards: You will inevitably be punted during the evening (from accidents or lag) but 'revenge' punts just breed more shit driving.
Keep it clean. Even if you think you've been hard done by. Keep it clean.

Driving Standards
Some drivers are obviously faster than others but we're all racing for fun so boost is turned on to keep the pack together.
> Give each other racing room. No other pushing or ramming other cars off the tarmac.
> If you accidentally push or hit a competitor off the track, slow and let them re-pass you to address the situation (apologising via your headset will also help).
> If you deliberately push or hit a competitor off the track, you won't be invited back.

See you all tomorrow.

cyyyyyniiiiicaaaaaal baaaasssstard.
But correct nonetheless.
Should start it at 8pm with *ahem* good drivers only. Get some kwalitee races in. Then let the fuzz in @ 8:30.
I rank myself as a quality driver ;)
Cynical only because its been horrid lately.
All of us know better, but keep ignoring it.
Irony of it is that 90% of the time the contact costs you as much anyhow.

I'll probably be on a bit later, hopefully when the driving standards improve (as there are less people).

Maybe for the races with heaps of people we keep the boost on low? We always seem to get cleaner races that way.

We've been doing these nights for how long now? I don't understand how it is possible for people to still be fucking shit drivers...
Penalties on? Boost low?
Who gives a fuck if you're not winning the race, it's for the fun of the game and for the love of racing/driving.

Good battle at Fuji - two very different cars and nothing more than some taps.

Good driving.
I was making a conscious effort to be fair or get out of the way. Not sure if you were actually complimenting me or if it was sarcastic, either way that's the second week I've played and had some pretty good midfield battles with you. The driving this week wasn't perfect but it was really good, vast improvement. Plus some of those choices were great. The cobra race was hilarious.
I wish I could stay to the end with you guys, the later the hour the cleaner the moves.

I decided to take off ABS for the cobra race. That was a mistake. Half way down on the pedal and it would still lock up something tragic, so I decided to become an obstacle to jump!
Not bad racing. There was some races where it was just like 'ok everyones having a laugh and a punt' but it was frustrating at times when, in other races, you're having a clean, hard battle for a number of laps and then you get taken out by someone doing something stupid. On purpose.
Ah well, I was in stitches a few times during the night, like on the last lap of the Ring where Tyson just disappears behind everyone on the straight.
No I was being serious.
Definitely better than last week all round.

Yeah agreed for the amount of people we had the racing was pretty clean.

Noticed this also, and did the same. If there was enough time for me to get going again before another car came (after hitting a wall or something) I did, else I stayed to the side until they passed.
Driving standards were substantially better as a whole, I thought.
Golf-Nurburgring race:
AK, tailing me: Target acquired!
Me: Fuck yooouuuuuuuuuuu *swerves madly left and right*
Hahaha.
No idea what the hell happened with the RX7 race either, but when my screen finally loaded I was the only one at the starting grid, already about 20-30s behind... No chance! The cars handled like go-karts though, was still fun.

Except for about the 3 races that proceeded the Nurburgring race, it was fairly clean racing.
Laguna Seca was entertaining. MGR would get in front, allow 2-3 cars go past and with in a corner or 2 those 2-3 cars are in the sand or spun out.

Was a good game last night. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope I didn't get in any ones way. I think I kept up ok. Few 5ths and a 2nd. Definately have to do it again. On night shift next week. Wont be able to play.
Finally worked out my network issue. Wireless was being a homo so I hooked it straight to my computer screen with the sacrifice of sound. Lol. That was during the cobra race. Then went to the other tv and had sound. Wired connections never fail.

Was a good night, I was a bit tired/drunk at the end so my attention was lacking. Like picking sports hard tyres on the last race....
Battle with TJ in the RX-7's was awesome fun. I had some pretty awesome offs on the Nurburg ring and Tsukuba.
I really wish I hadnt used a 540pp Car at Fuji, My RX-7 is a weapon but its not a race car - a 7th in that race I was pretty happy with!

haha yes. Golfs were good.
It was a great night with great battles not only at the front but all the way through the grid.
Only let down of the night was that one muppet (forgot there user name now, awsnt a regular,) who disapointed me and many others (I heard TJ going off at one stage as well) in the super stage. With no or very limited catch up i was in 3rd for 5 laps trying to catch up. Said person was second. I finally have a passing opertunity on a straight and what would you know, they decide to side swipe me and I spun out. Dropped back to 12th or something.
That shit just pisses me off. Other then that the rest of the night was fun.
As discussed last night we should put some bans on this shit. Would make thursday nights so much better.
traitor07.
The straight line shit is stupid.... UNLESS its near the end of the last lap and you are trying to defend a lead. I will often go defensive to force people the long way round.
Turning people around on lap 2 of a 8 lap race is stupid.

I recall a few good battles with you if your psn is similar to your username, fair racing and leaving room for eachother. It seems there were much better drivers than two weeks ago, only a couple of newer names who just don't seem to know the tracks yet, I still did however experience some vyssute overtaking maneuvers that left me several positions down the field and often with more than a little mechanical damage. Resisted the urge to revenge punt though. Hopefully it gets better from here, whoever wbjames is they were killing it. Clean and fast.

i actually thought the first few races were pretty clean, maybe coz i won those? lol.
had some nice tight racing with mgr & sv304 on a few tracks, dependiing on the car/track combo i.e the 630pp stuff traction control is definetly a must when trying to come out of corners with a torquey motor

Or tune the car so it doesn't do it? Suspension, LSD, etc

i dont play the game enought to worry about tuning suspension and shit.
im still using a controller so it's hard to modulate the throttle like a pedal
I am also controller bound.

im still using a controller so it's hard to brake or find the apex so i just aim for your rear door and hope for the best
:P
sometimes it gets frustrating, but to me its kind of the wildcard event of a race, will i survive this vyssute looming in my mirror or is this where i meet wall.
its easy for me to judge in my playseat on my g27, the game is clearly much easier for me with the setup i have.

i had a couple of good races (except for the one where i got spun off into the pits - twice!) but then i disco'd and couldnt get back in because the room was full :(
