I just recently replaced my clutch with a new exedy organic around 1000km ago (havent trashed it yet),
I can smell burnt clutch when releasing it normally, worse when reversing.
I know this is not normal because it's burning before it even bites.... also got other people to drove it and its doing the same thing (so its not my driving)
One thing i also notice the biting point also getting further away then it was originaly.
any ideas?

It'll leak it's fluid out/not hold pressure, and won't engage the clutch correctly.
Have you tried bleeding the clutch fluid?

If its ~1000kms old, take it back. (or did you fit it yourself?)

Company that fitted it is no longer trading

Not trading for a reason !! jokers.

Maybe a warped or slightly uneven on friction material.....try clutching it in top gear on the dfwy a few times to bed it in....or just keep driving it and see how it goes.

Is the bite point high/low/middle?

If its got a leak in the master cyl or slave cyl (usually characterised by a low bite point in the clutch pedal) it wont disengage the clutch properly and he will have a hard time changing gears. That wont cause the clutch to slip but can damage the syncros instead.

It could be slipping if you used too much grease and its found its way onto the surfaces of the clutch disc/flywheel.

yea autoclutch is gone, trying to get hold of the dude but no response.

biting point is really high, almost all the way up.
Its got brand new clutch and it doesnt slip at all...

i'll check the slave cylinders.

If Ive got the paper work you can get in contact with exedy and see what they think sound like a dodge install maybe something to do with the diaphragm Not applying enough pressure.. single plate?

Welds break ?
Pads disintegrate, looks like he didn't bond the material properly to the plate, the rivets are still there munching my flywheel.

It blows on both sides. Not just one. This the first time I have encounter. And now I went for exedy sports. So far so good :)

Probably it over heated and blow? Don't know
The clutch only do total prob under 60 hot lap arround barb.

Giving it the freeplay makes it perform properly, and not make those horrid noises it used to. But im still trying to establish why all of a sudden you have no pedal free play.... i have no more adjustment on the pedal pushrod.... so something is still upset, ill get it on the hoist on thursday and keep looking.

When you geta clutch from Scott at Autoclutch, he tells you to bring it back if your freeplay dissapears and he'll adjust it.

Yeah thats the only answer at the moment, seems to be working fine. I think the smell and noise are just a clutch that doesnt really want to be ridden, being ridden. Might be a underlying diaphram fault but i havent got enough to go on at the moment, i reckon keep going. If it slips under power then re-assess.
