Just a short story on my CBR with some pics to show it off :)

I got the bike end of 2010 at around 20000kms and just clicked over about 22250km. I get out on it a couple of times a week for both commuting and fun rides.

I stepped up from my Aprilia RS250 and found going from a full sized 250 to the 600 didn't pose any issues, the extra hp is a fantastic adrenalin kick. I don't really miss the RS's kick start too much, either.

This bike came with a Micron muffler (can be obnoxiously loud), braided brake lines, oggy knobs and a Power Commander 3.

I think I'm fairly happy with the bike as is now, I've really only changed the bike cosmetically since it came with a bunch of stuff done already (that I would've eventually gotten around to doing myself) and for much of it have Mr Mike to thank :)

Here's the first pic I saw of it, when the previous owner had it:

Firstly, swapped in some aftermarket shorty levers, commonly referred to as fake Pazzo's:

I took off the pillion pegs and had them powder coated matte black so they match the bike when they are on:

Pillion seat cowl:

Next off came the terrible fender with an eliminator kit from eBay:

The bar ends and a set of swinger spools looked old, scratched and crappy. I got a set of Woodcraft spools on it now and new bar ends can be seen here:

And lastly some flush mount indicators to replace the dorky looking stock items and a HID kit. The HIDs look quite blue in these pics but they warm to a more white glow:

Voila :) The only thing I'd really like is to have the swing arm powdercoated black and look into changing the gear ratios but I'm happy with it for now.

Hey Trav, just do your time on a Hyo. Full size 250 and does the job :)

Cheers Lance. We really need to get the old school crew together for a ride now a few of us have bikes.

Nice looking bike. Agree with the black swing arm, and also a black/carbon pipe would finish it off a treat.

As far as bikes go, these win my heart every time as far as looks go. I'm not responsible enough to ever own one, I'd definately kill myself within a week.

nice upgrade for first big bike

how hard is it to take off the swing arm to be powdercoated ?

you should do the gearset black too, would look nice or anodized black no chipping/peeling

would be cheaper/easier i'd think to buy a CF swing arm cover if they make one.. buy from overseas and they are pretty cheap.

Can never have too much italian chrome on a bike imo... :D

thommo there's a step by step photo guide some guy in Americaland has done and put up on a forum. As far as removal/refit of the swingarm goes, it looks damn easy for someone with the right tools and a bit of mech know-how.

Black rearsets would look the goods too, forgot about that.
