When i did my one last year, i had to remove starter motor, dump pipe, hot side pipe and flywheel/gearbox cover to remove the sump.
awesome, that doesnt sound too bad at all.
is there good clearance under there (crossmember?) to get to ALL rod caps/brgs?
thanks

is it a 4g93 of a 4g63
why are you taking it off...just to look?
If that is the case....put a bore camera in through the turbo oil drain. very easy too do and same result.
if you really need to take it off...
drop the front pipe from cat to dump
remove the transfer case....there are five bolts and one is a bitch to see.
remove the turbo oil drain
remove the clutch cover.....little bit of tin held on with three bolts.
4g93 info
you can then take off the sump....yes there is room for access to all the big ends and the main girdle.....after you take off the oil pump pick and the windage tray.
4g63 is the same but depends on 6 bolt or 7 bolt bottom end.
if you just want to look in side.....I have bore cam and can help out.
thanks alot.
its a 93, reason i will want to get inside is to do rods/brgs & slugs etc
so you rekon transfer case has to come off?
if so is it just 5 bolts? easy job?
thanks
