DETAILS
- From about 8:30pm onwards
Eligible cars
> Racing cars GT500/DTM/FIA GT etc 630PP* or less and Racing Soft tyres.
- If you don't have any racing cars in your garage you can choose one from the arcade list (eg Calsonic Nissan GT-R or Castrol Toyota Supra)
> And the usual one make stuff from the 'Recommended' arcade car list.
* You can de-tune your car for online racing by adjusting the Power 'slider' control if your car creeps over 630PP.
> Various Tracks (inc some random generated tracks)
> Driving aids allowed except skid recovery
Driving Standards
Some drivers are obviously faster than others but we're all racing for fun so boost is turned on to keep the pack together.
> Give each other racing room. No other pushing or ramming other cars off the tarmac.
> If you accidentally push or hit a competitor off the track, slow and let them re-pass you to address the situation (apologising via your headset will also help).
> If you deliberately push or hit a competitor off the track, you won't be invited back.
For how to join and connection troubleshooting CLICK HERE (http://www.antilag.com/forums/showpost.php?p=818220&postcount=2).
See you all tonight.

As always, had some connection issues at the start, they seemed to sort themselves out towards the end though.
Sorry to whoever I nudged at the end of the Fuji race (I think it was the M3 GTR?), but I pulled the the side and let everyone pass because I'm an ethical pingpingpingping.
PS. Audi A4 Touring Car pulls HARD under acceleration, lacks top speed though. :/
Good racing guys, maybe see you next weekend depending on whether I take the PS3 down south to the in-laws or not.

seems to be some issues with this patch i reakon. game/voice quality was up the shit and for a few races i was only seeing 9 people in a race with me leading from start to finish.
wtf

Driving standards were pretty poor tonight, but it was still fun.
NASCAR at the end was awesome, so funny.
TJ, you suck at overtaking, just like your hero Lewis.
LOL WOOOOOOOOOOF - especially when you guys were ganging up!
In all seriousness, I will say this.
There was several times I was clean punted off the road, so a revenge hit was in order.
Several times I was pushed into another car, and thus seeming to create an accident,
A few times I fucked up, and slowed up to let the car back pass, only to get smashed and create an even bigger accident.
Several times ... well yeah, it was pure vyssute spec hits.
Nascar was a ton of fun, pit, go nearly a lap down, then try to drag it back.

I will apologise as my driving was pretty shit towards the end of the night, but I was starting to get sick of getting towards the front and then punted into a wall or used as a braking marker. (during the Eiger Nordwand race, 3 times I was slammed into the wall just before the tunnel or taken out by another car there. Twice slammed into the wall by Cake)
The one thing I hate about running the 630pp races, 99% of us use race cars. You get the 1 or 2 that decide to take a highly modified Skyline/Corvette with huge power that don't handle or brake as well and take cars out when they can't stop as well or make a corner. This has happened to me the last 2 weeks.
I think I found one of the best races was with the SLR/Mclaren/Lambo with boost off. Slowly worked my way through the pack, had a lap and a half battling with MGR before slipping a couple of positions through a slight mistake.
Maybe we need to run a few more races with no boost. Allow the field to spread out and stop the cars that come screaming through the pack on boost (although keep running races like the Nurburgring with boost).
Oh and keep standing starts for Nascar.... It's fun blasting off the line sideways in front of everyone.

the nordwand track is tricky as you only need to get off the racing line ever so slightly and hit the siding and you stop dead. i hit it myself a few times and encouraged a few people into it too. :-p
was a good race though between me & tj and think it was sciflyer from laps 5 onwards. the 1st few laps was punt & nudge city.
the nurdburgring was a wierd one too, me and sv were battling out for 1st place, but the game looked like it was lagging big time as sv's car was moving all over the road. i would go to overtake with him off to the side and then all of a sudden his car was directly in front of me and i would hit him.
i ended up punting him because of this. not on purpose though.

Nah i bailed coz i got a bit tired of being used as a braking marker every race, pingpingpingpings not even trying to make the corner...

Easiest way to make it a compeditive and more enjoyable racw would for everyone to use the safe make and model of car. Take the car out of the equation and everyone can be on such a level playing field it should help with the bumps and hits. Hopefully you guys decide to do it this weekend too and i'll get a chance to race again.

I will admit I was trying to block a bit going up that straight, but it was glitching a little bit. It wasn't much of a punt, just enough to get me loose on the grass, racing incident. Problem was the next 7 cars caught up and a few of them slammed me into the barrier.

Driving standards were pretty poor tonight, but it was still fun.
This.
People cutting the corners HUGELY, punting everyone, etc! But I guess we have to remember some of us haven't played in well over a month - I made the effort to jump on a bit earlier to have some practice because of this.

I leave you all for one night and driving standards are noticeably poorer. Coincidence?
...yeah probably.
Anyway, sounds like there were a few lag issues, so perhaps people were not entirely to blame for the mistakes. I know when I had issues last week that I'd be 2 car-lengths behind someone and the next second i'd be 'inside' them and they/I would get thrown into a wall.
We've had a pretty good run of 'high-quality racing' races for around 4-6 weeks now, so you're bound to get a "let all that frustration out" night once in a while, aren't you?
Better racing next week.

I like the 630pp limit races because it's so much more challenging/entertaining driving those cars against people, the field tends to spread out with boost on low or off on proper tracks because oh how fast/aggressive the cars are!

I prefer the one make / close to same pp level racing than the 630pp stuff. mainly because the rating system sucks at that level.
the cars either power away in a straight line and cant turn/stop or are too slow but corner well. which on a track like fuji means as soon as you get to the straight your either going to catch up or get left behind.

Do you guys race with all assists off?
I think half my problem is getting sideways out of the corners.

i have everything off except abs on 1 and the racing line thingo.
Good times. NASCAR at the end was highly enjoyable.

Lol. SV304 & TJ = same same. Far from innocent.
If you're referring to any punting on Eiger Nordwand Track Short Track Reverse from myself, you can thank TJ for most of that. Slamming into the back of me instead of using his brakes resulting in me ploughing into whoever was in front. I do remember running into MGR aswell. Apologies for any accidental whacks into those I don't know well.
As for TJ, any taps were well warranted. You dog! You've been dubbed "the plough" for a good reason.

I had driving line and ABS on afaik.
That Audi A4 Touring Car I had on Fuji was terrible for wanting to peel out at every turn - tap off the throttle or power through until grip takes over.

Never ever happened. I raced hard and fair in that one, maybe a tiny tap here or there.
