Looking for recommendations -

No need for clock, alarm, any of that shit.

Must work with iphone 4

Good sound.

Battery power would be nice but not a neccesity.

I looked at jb but there is about 1000 to pick from, and I didnt have time to plug the phone in and crank one up.

What do you own? How much etc?

I have a Bose SoundDock. Sounds awesome, not the cheapest option though.

How much?

Its for work, so even though I am not budget limited, I need to be able to justify it.

B&W and Bang & Olufsen make the best docks, but you're talking thousands.

Bose SoundDock is RRP $449.. as seen here.

Not the cheapest, but still not the most expensive either.

Are you after the ability to charge your phone? If not best shot would be to get a logitech z-5500 $280.00 eBay or something simiar lower end model to cut cost

i've got this JBL dock, used with iPhone 4

http://www.jbl.com/EN-US/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?PID=OS-200ID

Sound quality is top notch, shit won't distort at max volume and also comes with a remote.

Line out on the rear of it too, i have that plugged into a 15" powered sony home theatre woofer and it sounds better playing thru this than my 7.1 Sherwood system

I got one of these from JBs a while back, makes a fairly decent noise and goes pretty loud. Has no problems with my iPhone.
Charges, has a battery, comes with soft case and even a remote.

Bingo.

That's the one I've got, and it's brilliant. Battery lasts forever, light as fuck, and sound quality is quite good.

Highly recommend it!

Yeah i never had a problem with mine. Battery lasts ages, easy to pack and take with you, has little fold out legs so it freestands.
If someone rocks up with an mp3 player that isnt an iPod it even has an aux port in the back for it to plug in to. Just need an aux cord
