Hey crew,
My little bro has some rings he wants to sell (engagement and wedder I belive). He got them then shit when down hill and now he want to get rid of them.
He offered me some liquor incentive if I can find him somewhere that will give an ok price.
They are white gold so im not sure if the usual gold merchants would be interested and I know he would get offered about $50 from cashies (paid about 3k for the set I belive).
Is there any other alternatives to private sales (ebay/quokka/gumtree ect)?

Cheers

Any business dealing in gold/ diamonds will offer similar money as cashies would. Best bet is eBay/classifieds as you have mentioned.

In a normal sized ladies wedding ring there is literally about 100 bucks of gold (at today's gold price), halve that if it's 9 ct. Most of the diamonds from shopping centre jewelers are trash also.

It's not only cashies ripping people off, it's the retail jewellers who sell them the items at ridiculous prices.

This.

Most of the stuff in your standard jewellery stores is about 1000% marked up.. even at "half price", there is still a huge mark up.

Dealers will only offer what the ring is worth, not what you paid for it.
