If they're stupid to:
1. think that they have fast/decent cars
2. think they're good drivers with only 2 weeks experience
perhaps they should have let these dumb pingpingpingpings crash. Eliminate retards from the gene pool. Having said that, most 17 year olds from Rocko already have kids, so probably too late...

Google maps shows this as a wide, 2 lane road with a median strip.

Seems not too bad for a squirt.

^^ You've never actually driven along it though, have you? There's side-roads around bends that you can barely see, and pair that with the fact that every prick in Beeliar/Success/Hammond Park/Cockburn/South Lake likes to pull out without looking. Not safe at all.

I've been in =

A jzx100 drifting the spearwood rd roundabout

A GTR doing another 50-70 on top of what these guys were doing

A few runs of my own

Along that road.

Wont somebody think of the children

Did you do all that merely two weeks after passing your license?

I do agree with you TJ, but it's a time-and-place thing. The road *may* be wide enough to support high speed driving, but at 8.30pm, there is too high a chance of other traffic being around.

Personally, I see a 170k run being safer at 1.30am than at 8.30pm. But that's not to say I haven't done equally as silly things, but not after holding a license for only two weeks.

With the obviously advanced skills of perception, they may have thought that this was an apropriate time frame to do it, and that what you percieve to be the correct time, incorrect.

In my day it was a series 100 straight 6 vs a chevvy suburban v8

v8 was ahead until it hit speed cut at about $1.75

Noone needs to judge them except the magistrate. They will learn an important lesson from this and thankfully not from injuring anyone.

Parents are to blame!

But seriously it only takes one beating from your old man to knock some sense into you. Gone are the days of high speed runs with small fines :(

Very lucky nothing happened, hopefully they learn from this.

Their actions were stupid, sure, especially given one of them only had 2 weeks of experience driving alone on the roads, but we've all done it. At least these 2 will hopefully learn from their experience that there is a time and place for everything.

meh i'm siding with Tj on this one, not a wise or clever move by no means but fuck me i done the same and much worse in my driving history.
They got caught, i've been caught no amount of nagging or laws are going to make it stop for most people it takes 1 of 2 things before they slow down and act responsibly. Sadly one is the death due to a car accident of someone close and the other is just time and growing up.

Negative, was about 12 years ago, long story to it but managed to talk my way out of the speeding fine and they pinged me for not having p plates on the bike...it had snapped iff fron the wind force going that fast :P

Time and place. Should get some windows stickers made up for that...

But they didn't, which should elevate them to celebrity status.

It proves they can drive

The road safety rules regarding speed are a fallacy

" If you allow kids to have alcohol, people will get hurt. What the hell was THIS car, certainly modified, doing even existing, let alone in the hands of a kid. We need to seriously look at the power of the vehicles our kids are driving, and restrict the HP they have access to until they have proven themselves capable to handle a car.
"
this guy made me rage, even if it was a Swift GTI, you're barely looking at 100hp at the fly. When the fuck are people going to learn that HP has nothing to do with it.

Dickhead is going to be a dickhead in any car. How much HP are people allowed? 50? Meaning braking power and suspension is going to match the engine power, making it a worse car to have at high speed anyway.

Just thinking aloud Posted at 9:08 AM Today
Good point Safehands. If it is ok to limit the size of motorbike you can ride when you get your license, 250cc, then why not restrict the size of car engine? 1.5L maybe...

swift is 1.3, so all good. got room for stroker kit.

if a retard wanted to drag in an excel, he will drag in the excel.
and if he wanted to hit top speed, he will.. just in a more slower fashion.

Still no word on who won?

My old 3L na VL did alright as a first car, as a manual was quicker than "voot" from here's vt off the line. He was adamant his had top end so we started from 100km/hr on roe. The difference was even though we were p platers we still had the sense to try the high speed stuff on the highway. Looking back we were no less little fuckwits than these guys are, dont think much has changed.

Oh and The VL took him.

End of the day it was just runs. Go on any cruise, speeds above that will get seen.

We've all done it so I say, way over limit on residential road and top speeding cars on fwy. Looking back now, it was a mistake and was being a dumb pingpingpingping on P's.

Though i live next to beeliar drive and i would not be impressed to see these pingpingpingpings doing 170 and dodging traffic. I think right away shit, my parents, sister, gf use that road everyday. Going to get maccas at cockburn central could turn into a disaster.

Advice: do it at another place where there aren't residents i.e over the hills. Or even armadale is good enough (where boongs are)

Marti
04-06-2011, 01:22 PM
The other thing is that there are alot of drunk pingpings stumbling home from the pub, they would be a mess if they got hit by one of these idiots. I'm glad they got done. There's always police on beeliar drive because of these idiots

cleaver. the difference being on a highway like that one is more likely to kill only oneself. rather than take out some poor sod minding their own business is all.
