Safari Turbo Kits if you want off the shelf and have deep pockets or you could bolt on the turbo gear from a import Surf.
As far as engine conversions Marks Adapters and V6conversions.com sell kits to fit commo V6's, Holden 5ltrs and toyo v8's.
2j's and 7m's are also common conversions.

3l motor hey? we turbo'd a mates old boys 5L diesel for about $300 bucks. td04 + steampipe manifold and some welding skills. Just had to tweak the injection pump a bit but apart from that a piece of piss. Oil feed from pressure sender, return line tee'd into alternator vacuum pump, top mount turbo on 7 psi and basic dump pipe. dead simple. they love boost.
if you can get someone to weld up a basic log style manifold its pretty much a 6 - 8 hour conversion

If you can find all the turbo gear from a 2lte engine it bolts upto the 3l motor with only oil feed line changes. I had a forerunner that i did this too with over 300kms on the clock and not one issue.

buy a mtq manifold for 300ish smash a t25 or t28 on top mount or front mount 15psi and dump pipe should make decent power. Mine did anyway
