Hi all my girlfriend currently has a C class auto licence and I want her to have her manual licence so she can drive my car home legally when I'm pissed.

Other than having to pay for L's and the test is the actual driving test a lap around the block or is it full blown test like you would do from scratch?

Anyone else done this?

Im in the same situation mate. They must pay and obtain a learners permit for a manual vehicle.

Then i was pretty sure she had to sit the driving test only.

That was 5 years ago, she still hasnt done it, although i have succeeded in teaching her manual so she could drive my car in an emergency. Just not legally.

Should have to do a manual licence from the beginning imo. If you cant multitask you shouldnt be behind the wheel.

But interested to know what the requirement is to retest and get unrestricted.

Edit: Didnt think leaners permits were required between classes of license anymore. Like you dont need to get a Learners permit to ride big bike when you have had gimp bike license for 1 year..

Move to NSW or Victoria for a bit where after two years you automatically upgrade to manual license. Apply to obtain NSW drivers license using your WA one. Then you will be granted full NSW license. Let your WA one expire and transfer back to WA for full license lol.

Did you have epic arguments and spastic fits trying to teach her as well? Mine drives smooth as now but first month or so was a nightmare!

LOL, nah shes pretty cool, sporty chick, decent coordination. Although i only said what i had to, i avoided monster arguments quite well come to think of it :)

When her mum tried... FARK! Get me the fuck out of there! Mental arguments between them two. Plus her mum didn't teach her anything correctly!

+1 wife has manual license but still have spastic fits when she drives. Who ever taught her to drive manual orginally taught her its okay to ride the clutch and use it as a park brake on hills. You know rev to about 2k and feather it to keep the car from rolling back...../CSB

Mrs lost hers and I forced her to go get manual one. Only just got it after 5 years of fines, impounding and suspensions... When I started teaching her years ago was interesting driving with a very hot headed Portugese/Italian, who thinks its all the cars fault. Even the flicky thing on the rear vision mirror copped abuse for doing something wrong. She did one lesson and after hearing what they teach, never again. So I taught her propperly, and she has not developed any bad habbits, yet.

To her its the best thing she ever did, do not understand why they even give the option of an auto licence. If you cant drive manual shouldn't be on the road.

She must apply for a Learners Permit for a manual vehicle then complete a practical test. If she passes, she will have a full unrestricted license.

She won't have to do a log book or go on P plates or any of that shit.

NT only have one type of car license apparently!
my ex had a C-A in WA, moved up there and got given a full license, and got a full C class when she moved back here, haha.
