heard on the radio they closed both lanes going south and one lane on the other side going north. massive gap between the lanes in each direction so it must have been a big smash!

From what the missus told me, Learner pulled across in front of a truck. Truck drove straight over the car.

Both father and son dead.

RIP.

EDIT2: Actually, going by the time and road, apparently this was a different crash? Still, RIP.

Yup, mixed up the truck crashes. I feel a change in the ruling for Learner's is going to come about because of it though...

Darwinism at work here. YAY.

It amuses me how many people have died on this road. Does no pingpingpingping stop and look left/right at intersections any more?

If they were on mundijong road heading towards the freeway, it's not like you WOULDNT see a fucking truck coming. so suck shit.

<csb>I live in mundijong, travel the road whenever heading to kwinana, rocko or freeway etc. i was towing my drag car to metalcraft 1 day. so im in a white nissan patrol towing a blue commodore on a huge blue trailer at 100kph and some fuck wit decides to pull out onto mundijong road from a dirt road on a corner not even 300 metres in front of me!!!

pingpingpingping was seriously fucking lucky i seen them coming out and instinctly new the pingpingpingping was just gonna pull out, so had allready backed off the throttle. started braking, seen there was a good bit of distance to over take safely with the horn on at full bore, went around the shit stains.

who had at this stage finally relized how fucking lucky they were, coz i would have gladly plowed into the pingpingpingpings with the bull bar. punted them off the road and kept driving.

nah. i would have stopped and made sure the pingpingpingpings were dead.

Mate... Learner driver. Could have missed the stopping zone panicked etc... Too many factors. If the learner was on their own, then I'd be harsher.. But yeah, RIP.

had the truck driver from the mundijong accident on the news, dude was pretty devo obviously. Despite it not being his fault and nothing he could of done to prevent it 2 people still died in the accident.

learner driver or not. im sure he has been a passenger in a motor vehicle long enough to know how to judge distances.

slightly off topic, but continuing along the lines of dumb fuck drivers....

the reid hwy / alexander drive overpass is fantastic and long overdue. should make the whole of reid, roe, tonkin into freeways, but what amazed me was why they chose that intersection to do first. because it recorded the highest number of crashes in the city. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE???? huge traffic lights! no stop sign or give way sign, all the thinking is taken out of it. dumb fucks that crashed there should have their license taken for life! /rant

darwinism? cmon have heart, you never made a mistake on your L's? shit i think we all have, its just unlucky when you get really nervous and make the wrong decision, it is a shame. happens all the time.

everyone makes mistakes, its just sad these people died and stuff.

why wont somebody please think of the children?

this is why parents should not teach children to drive....

The way you just said that, it's as if you think driving instructors are far superior drivers? A mate of mine only just decided to get his L's this year (nearly 21, nearly graduating Uni and still can't drive himself - genius!) and the shit he's told me that his driving instructor teaches him to do...lol. He's only concerned in getting my mate to pass the test, nothing further.

Me? I never had a single driver instructor lesson, my parents taught me how to drive from step one, taking me right out in to what seemed like the middle of nowhere in Pinjarra, and teaching me to drive there (where there was essentially no traffic - which is how it should be). They taught me how to drive, not how to pass a test. Result? I've never been in an accident, and I haven't had a traffic infringement since I got out of the whole "fuck yeah I'm a maddog P-plater" phase a couple years back.

It really depends on the mentality of whoever is teaching the Learner to drive - if they only want them to pass the test, they're only going to teach them what they need to know in order to do so.

Whether it was the kid's fault, or the father's fault, it's really not something you should ever wish upon someone.

while some parents can teach their kids, some shouldnt.

have seen a sudanese woman teaching their child to drive and making them give way to the left at round abouts.

so if they are being taught how to past the test it still better then be taught by a retard.

Still all the bad habits are there I really havent seen a P plater in the left hand lane before whos teaching them?

Even see L platers on the freeway in the right lane blocking traffic with their mum/dad in the car thats another bad driver on the road.

Lucky for me I was going for my L's when I was in Europe and my Dad and cousin taught me how to drive it really opened my eyes on how shit the drivers are here but most us know that it still frustrates the fuck out of on a daily basis.

It's possible the father in-law made a mistake or the L Plater made a mistake or paniced. But do they deserve to die for it?

I wonder if some of the Posters Terry Tuffpingpingpingping attitudes would change if two members of their family where killed in a similar fashion?

A friend of Mine and Her mother where killed in a similar accident with a Truck on the south west hghway a few years ago.Her Mum didnt see the truck due to the position of the sun. Does any body deserve to die because of an Error like that?

^ Not at all, Inexperienced drivers are gonna panic almost no one deserves to die dont know if your pointing my post out I didnt mean to come off as they deserve it I was just going on about the topic that others brought up about learning how to drive.

But had Australians get real driving lessons like in Germany getting track time and getting a real feel and sense of a car help? it would probably prevent a few deaths no doubt but Australia is more interested in what profits as that sort of stuff would be a liability to them.

Wasn't refering directly to you post Mate. More the attitude of the thread towards learner and other drivers.

Totally agree with you RE Learning to drive VS Getting taught the requirements to pass the test. I learned to drive in a Similar fashion to you. My dad made me completed several defence driving and car control courses before he would let me sit my test,I had my L's for a lot longer than alot of my mates at the time and 1 by 1 they all had silly crashes relating to excess speed or lack of car control.

I look at it this way, at 18 I thought I could drive at 31 I know I couldn't!

Likewise the Roe Hwy/GE Hwy overpass in Midland, cant wait for that to be finished

Truck drivers will love not having to hit the skids when dumb pingpingpingpings overtake them right before a red light

Rocked up to work this morning and the bunnings truck from the roe hwy accident is sitting down the side of the workshop. Looks like he changed lanes into the other truck then flipped over
