So i thought it was about time i did a showcase on both of my hilux's.
The original one was bought a while ago as my daily and to get my bikes around.
It is a 1990 sr5 extracab
I soon got tired of the lack of power and getting burned off at the lights by excels.
So i started on this one
http://i31.tinypic.com/x1isxx.jpg
http://i29.tinypic.com/2115t3m.jpg

Soon it looked like this
http://i25.tinypic.com/71miaw.jpg
Then i organised the motor which was a aristo front cut which ended up being shit (oil leaks and sludged) so i spent some money on the motor to get it up to standard.

Specs now are
CP forged pistons
Spool rods
Brian crower 272 cams
Brian crower valve springs and titanium retainers
Brand new oil pump
Greddy Adjustable timing gears and timing belt
Ross full metal jacket balancer
Sard top feed fuel rail and 800cc injectors
China special exhaust manifold
Tial 44mm wastegate
Garrett T04Z with 1.15 exhaust housing
Haltech E11V2 with 6x ls1 external coils and 4 bar map sensor
PLX devices wideband 02 sensor
Shortened and rebuilt tailshaft from final drive.
Carter black lift pump
2lt surge tank
2x bosch 044 external pumps
52mm Aluminum radiator

Then i decided i will have a bit too much power and will probably fry the gearbox and could be fucked changing it so i purchased a MV automatics spragless a340e and a 3500 convertor.
I also sorted out a 3.9 lsd diff with brand new motive gears because i couldnt find the ratio i wanted.

This was when me and mxracer were making the mounts for it and trying to get it all aligned but this was with a gt35 which i thought looked too small so i sold it
http://i28.tinypic.com/16lia09.jpg

This is what the bay looks like now which has sat for a while when i was building my house but i am keen to get back into it to try and get it ready for powercruise.
http://i51.tinypic.com/2yught3.jpg

While i was doing this i was left with no daily and no way to get my bike around so i went and bought another extracab hilux and then it took a few months to get pissed with how slow that one was so i picked up a 2jzge and w58 out of a supra and me and mxracer dropped it in.
Its just running a walbro fuel pump and a stock ma70 supra radiator with 2x 10 inch thermos on the front and doesnt get hot in 40 degress plus days.
It took a couple of weeks and it looked like this, its a little bit slow at the moment so possibly looking at a little nitrous or a turbo for this one too

How easy do the 2jzs go into the bays and mounts? I have a sr5 extra cab as my work car and wouldn't mind smashing a na 2jz in to help with it been so gutless

Same question as Drift_R32 - how well do they fit? Any hassles? Any specific extras need to be sourced?

Looks like some killer projects though!

Love the lightweight radiator support panel!

it's all standard officer!
Haha, seriously though, very cool build so far, but magic and ballistic bring good points, make it stop, and make it sturdy.

Good job otherwise, keen for pending burnout vids

Tell em the truth, u were inspired by my old slylux , to build a jz lux.

Hey seems there is a bit of a market for jz conv in hilux's

Yes seems I got a few cars to get ready for powercruise this year, we'll get into it soon Mick

Oh and the rad support panel will be welded back in, if you were thinking it's missing. Also I already know a 4 pot front brake upgrade for these hilux's from when I built slylux. So no problems stopping once we do that

Yeah will be doing the r33 calipers and jza70 rear discs
It probably won't stay in this for long plan is to get it going do lots of skids then swap the motor into a chaser or jza80 so it can handle a bit too

Yes they are both ex rac and they were regoed on the same date with chassis numbers about 10 apart, even though i bought them 5 years apart.
All the rac utes start as white cars then are painted yellow before the delivery, the turbo one i bought yellow with the canopy on it still and painted it white again.
The 2jzge one i know the history of since it was bought off the rac as it was owned by a family friend for at least 15 years.

The shed is a mates and it is a 30m x 20m i think, he built it to store his furniture in while he travelled around australia and handed me the keys to look after it.

True, they do come white then they get blow over in the RAC Yellow.... They don't even paint the door jams etc so I wouldn't be hard to change it back to white... Would be nice to know their individual patrol numbers...

Just had a look at the original service books on the 2jzge one and it has S124 written on it if that means anything.

If it had an "S" prefix then it may have been a Regional Patrol van....

124 would usually be the Patrolman's number... I was K17, 125 and 155 from memory at various stages of my RAC life...

It was built by crown engines but i will be pulling it apart soon because its been sitting a while in my shed so im not comfortable starting it without checking it out first.
Also just scored a platinum sport 2000 ecu for this so will be selling the e11v2 soon.

They are in canningvale they do all our machining for work so i just used them, i sourced all the parts myself a while ago would have screwed the motor together myself but i was real busy at work at the time.
From memory the cams i got from a group buy on supraforums and the retainers and springs i got from gas motorsport but i needed them quickly so i couldnt order them from the states.
I was surprised at the level of service from gas motorsport, they shipped me the springs and retainers and i got them the next day.

Fuck been a while since this has had any updates.
So I still own both of these but the 2jz turbo one is now a 1jzgte and not running.
The 2jzge one is still going strong.

Here it is racing a mustang at collie a while back

http://youtu.be/ZU0OqoUXAiA

I've added a few more jz powered cars to my collection also.

http://i67.tinypic.com/hwhnhj.jpg

I bought this chaser when it come up for sale and have changed it up a little.

Specs are

Garrett gtx4202 with 4 inch dump and exhaust
Stock gearbox with shift kit and 5k billet convertor.
Haltech elite 2500 ecu
Pcs 2000 gearbox controller with Lexus steering wheel and paddle shift
Tein coilovers and a heap of other blue suspension bits.
1/2 inch speedflow lines with twin walbro 460s
Work xt7s
Has run a 10.7@133mph so far
And did 268kmh at racewars with a fried gearbox.

Here's a couple of videos from racewars.

Also have another jzx100

http://i66.tinypic.com/sb5xyv.jpg

This one is a 2jzvvti
Hks T04z
Twin aeromotive stealth pumps with 1/2 inch stainless hardliners
Leather recaros
4k convertor
Stoptech brakes
Gay wheels
Hks coilovers

It was running a built 2jz non vvti but I melted that during run in at collie so fitted a vvti as a replacement.

Slowly getting together the motor for rw18 after stripping down the built short block to get it line honed for a set of billet mains for a bit of piece of mind when the pressure is on to crank up the boost.

http://i68.tinypic.com/20p22d0.jpg

Pressure cleaned and ct18 the block to get all the machining gunk out and cleaned the bores with white rag and auto trans fluid till it was clean.
Coated the motor in crc and light soft seal ready for next week where the crank and Pistons will go in along with calico coated acl race series bearings.
Got a set of ca625+ head studs to hold the head down.

Sent the head off over east to clean up the ports and grind the valves a little.:D

http://i68.tinypic.com/357j792.jpg

Also found a good use for my air hockey table in my games room, mrs was stoked when she got home from work.

http://i68.tinypic.com/2pttlvn.jpg

A while back I bought a powerhouse racing oil pump for this motor so I bought a stock one also to compare.
It seems like all they do is drill a drain hole out to 7mm and add another 200 dollars to the price.
