Noisy neighbour - need some original ideas.

Got some inconsiderate pingpingpingpings in the house behind me who decided that having an epic pissup was a good idea last night. It sounded like a pack of apes having an orgy, added to the continual sound of what I can only describe as someone head butting a tin shed at 1am.

As a result I've had less than 5 hours sleep and I'm a cranky pingpingpingping.

Same thing occurs on the odd weekend (which I don't mind as much...but they are still fucking noisy well beyond 12am).

Could call police - but that will not do anything. Looking for some original ideas so I can have a bit of a laugh.

First thought is to remove the fuses from their meter box (I'm pretty certain that it is easily accessible by jumping the fence).

Also have a novelty megaphone - plays the Chinese national anthem in a high pitched tone. Been thinking of hanging that on the fence at 6am next time they decide to be noisy.


I do know it's a rental - not sure if I can find the landlord to discuss?

One of the guys works for some concrete place (I think), going by the company name of the truck that is always parked there. Wondering if I could call their workplace and spin some shit?

My work ute parks in front and my evo + siblings car in the garage. Next door have 3 cars but like to park 2 on the street then invite their daughter to park in my bay for hours on end leaving me no where to park, annoys the shit out of me when I get home at 6pm and there's no where to park.

Then they randomly stay up until 2am drinking with their daughters’ baby crying on a week night. So I think I'll steal some ideas from here as I'm lost in what to do since I've talked to them and left them letters on their cars and it only seems to act as a temporary fix

Contacted RPdata and they told me they cant give me the information, however under the 'freedom of information act' your local council can tell you the name and address of the person who owns a property on your a-joining house (for situations like fence repair etc). Got the information and notified the owner of the house :)

Calling the cops / council is pretty deterring for most people... Council probably more so then the cops as after multiple complaints (different dates) they send the house a letter warning you of the noise complaint fine they'll have to pay if they are caught again ($250 first time, $500 second time).

...True story, my house is on it's last warning. MOST people would be pretty wary of loud music if they thought a $500 fine was the consequence.

except she was pissed off that between the hours of 6pm - 10pm every saturday i would have my mates over then we would head out, as i lived in the city. this brewed up into a huge ordeal.

when reality is, i am a reasonable guy. if she came over knocked on my door i would have gladly turned the music down. but no.

she decided to call the police one night, let them into my apartment building then they knocked on my door. luckily 2min earlier i had turned off music as we were about to head out for the night. - all further claims by her have been rejected by the strata company.

I'm all about face values with people, I always went to our surrounding neighbours to let them know if I as having people over for drinks. I never got that in return from them, and they play music loud untill atleast 1am before it gets turned down, I never said a word. First night I got my 31 running straight out of the dump pipe, they called the police on me. I hadn't even begun running the RPM's higher to get it up to operating temp.

Next day, 7am, when I was legally allowed to start it again, straight out the pipe, I drove it around and around and around the block, for a good solid 40 minutes. I don't talk to any of them anymore, and the lady whom is stones throw away, cops the bird every time I see her, oxygen theiving inbred degenerate scum.

But, best thing if before it gets to far out of hand, is just have a chat to them and let them know that perhaps they shouldn't be fuck heads. It isn't hard, and if they are decent people, the message gets taken on board, and you score yourself a win.

Speaking with them may have an adverse affect if they are a bunch of buttholes with chips on their shoulders. All they will do is make it worse for you the next time they carry on.
Will you be willing to take the risk that they are a reasonable group who will be sympathetic to your complaint? The fact is that if they are doing it now, they more than likely have little respect for those around them, and will continue to carry on once they get a skinfull.
If you complain now and they are dickheads, your options will be limited because they will know that if anything were to happen to their property, you will most likely be the first person who they come and see.
Weigh up your options and make a descision based on your judgement.

In saying that, I had an issue with a bunch of fucksticks next door to me many years ago now. I knew by their appearance that talking to them would not solve the problem.
